    摘要: The present invention relates more particularly to improved flashings for use in integrating specialized roof-mounted structures, such as photovoltaic devices for the generation of electrical energy, with conventional roofing materials on a roof. In one aspect, the invention provides a flashing element having a cross-sectional shape comprising a laterally-extending flange, the flange having an edge, a first end and a second end, the side flashing element comprising a return hem disposed at the edge and comprising a folded-over strip of material disposed over the top surface of the flange at the edge, the return hem having a first end disposed toward the first end of the edge, and a second end disposed toward the second end of the edge, wherein the total thickness of the return hem at its second end is no greater than the interior thickness of the return hem at its first end.

    摘要: A flashing and associated assembly and method for directing water along an interface between a roof and a wall are provided. The flashing, which can be formed as a unitary molded plastic member, has an angled configuration. In particular, a roof portion of the flashing is configured to be disposed on the roof, and first and second flanges extend perpendicularly from the roof portion to define a continuous passage for receiving water. The flanges define an obtuse angle therebetween so that when one flange is disposed against the wall the other flange is configured to direct water flowing along the passage away from the wall. The flashing can be reversible so that the same flashing can be selectively installed at wall-roof interfaces of different configurations.

The system includes a corrugated flashing and an eave riser extension containing one or more openings for ventilation and drainage. The eave riser extension supports the lowermost row of roof tiles along the eaves at the pitch desired for the roof transition. The eave riser extension completes the closure of the entire eaves and provides support, ventilation, and drainage, while also providing a barrier to wind-driven precipitation, bird nesting, and animal invasion.

    摘要: A flashing assembly that incorporates a plurality of overlapping flashing sections that are each preferably formed from a sheet material. Each section includes opposite edge portions that are arranged about a generally V-shaped configuration. Joining the sections together is at least one clinch joint that is substantially formed and registered upon the overlapping edge portions of at least two different overlapping flashing sections. The clinch joint is adapted to releasably fasten the at least two sections. Various modifications include one or more additional clinch joints that are also substantially formed upon the same overlapping edge portions of the first clinch joint and the V-shaped configuration that forms an angle of approximately 90 degrees. In other variations of the preceding modifications, the clinch joint is a mechanical press fit interference joint or a welded, press fit, or adhesive joint, or some combination or permutation thereof. Each section may also incorporate one or more attachment holes and alignment indicia. The sheet material is preferably selected from a material such as, for example, powdered, machined, drawn, stamped, rolled, extruded, and forged metals and plastics, and alloys, and combinations, mixtures, compositions, hybrids, tempers, hardness modified, and heat treated variations thereof. More preferably, the sheet material is selected from the group of materials including weather and galvanic corrosion resistant materials including, for example, aluminum, tin, bronze, copper, lead, stainless steel, galvanized metals, weather proofed metals, plastic coated metals, and alloys, combinations, mixtures, compositions, hybrids, tempers, surface treated, hardness modified, and heat treated variations thereof.
