A second sheet has a first edge. The second sheet includes a substantially planar portion and a portion that is inclined with respect to the planar portion. The inclined portion has a recess open at the first edge.

A roof-mounted skylight having a plurality of distribution tubes. Natural light is directed through a dome on the skylight into a light collector box attached to the dome. The plurality of distribution tubes are coupled to the collector box and distribute natural light passed through the dome to rooms within the building.
Abstract:
A flashing structure for mounting onto a roof surface and used for receiving shingles. The flashing structure includes a first drainage channel extending longitudinally along the flashing structure. The flashing structure also includes a securing lip positioned over the first drainage channel and extending along the same, a gap being defined between the securing lip and the first drainage channel, the gap being shaped and sized for receiving the shingles. The flashing structure also includes a second drainage channel extending longitudinally along the flashing structure, the second drainage channel being fluidly connected to the first drainage channel. These features can be adapted to various flashings used in the metal roofing industry, including, but not limited to gable-end flashings, end-wall flashings, and valley flashings, as well as other related flashing structures.

Apparatus and a method for extending the length of a vent pipe for a predetermined distance above the elevation of a building roof includes an elongated extension pipe connectable with the vent pipe, a flashing attachable to the roof while fitted as a sleeve over the extension pipe, and a vent cap fittable over the flashing and the extension pipe. The vent cap includes an opening for venting to external atmosphere gases received by the extension pipe from the vent pipe. The extension pipe and the vent cap are sized so as to maintain a venting pressure in the extension pipe not greater than the venting pressure in the extension pipe.

Three dimensional flashings suitable for association with buildings where at least part of the flashing is a shape retaining three dimensional form to render its association with an underlying three dimensional substrate of the building easier even should it not initially match the conformation thereof. Such a flashing in such three dimensional region is adhesively associable with the substrate and includes for shape retention purposes below a suitable flexible weather resistant layer (e.g.; EDPM) an underlying conformable three dimensionally conformed material such as aluminium sheeting (optionally in a mesh form).
Abstract:
A flashing strip for placement at an intersection between a wall and an adjacent roof against which a plurality of shingles are to be laid, the flashing strip comprising an elongated back panel from which a plurality of flashing tabs extend outward. The flashing tabs are disposed at an angle to the axis and in substantially parallel planes to one another. During use, the elongated back panel is disposed against and coupled to the wall at the intersection, and shingles are then placed along the flashing tabs during the roofing process. The flashing strip may also include a ledge and/or a decorative molding above the flashing tabs. The flashing strips may be placed end to end to form a continuous flashing strip that may be installed before the placement of siding or the like on the wall. The siding may be installed by positioning the siding against the ledge before or after placement of the singles.

An enclosure assembly for use with mechanical penetrations through a roof including a plurality of structural sections. Each structural section has a vertical portion, including a first end and a second end, and a horizontal portion. Each first end includes projections and each second end includes receptacles, wherein each projection is adapted to sealingly engage with a receptacle of an adjacent structural section. Each projection is inserted into a cooperatively aligned receptacle of an adjacent structural section to form a polygonal-shaped assembly having a plurality of connections and defining a cavity. The projections may be hook-shaped and the receptacles may be rectangular-shaped. The resulting cavity is shaped to contain a sealing material suitable to sealingly enclose a mechanical penetration and a portion of the exterior roof surface within the cavity.

Roofing brackets include a first leg that can be attached to vertical members of a roof structure and a second leg that extends at an angle from the first leg and can be attached to horizontal members of the roof structure and/or to a support surface. One or both of the first and second legs includes a plurality of preformed patterned holes having sizes that can receive fasteners. A roofing structure is fabricated using the roofing brackets.
Abstract:
A roof pipe chase housing system for allowing pipes to pass through a roof without leaking. The roof pipe chase housing system includes a roof curb, a housing structure attached to the roof curb, and a tower structure attached to the housing structure. The housing structure has a side panel for allowing one or more access openings to be positioned within that receive a pipe in a sealed manner. The housing structure preferably includes an extended lip that prevents water from entering between the housing structure and the roof curb. The tower structure is capable of supporting one or more electrical disconnect switches and other devices.
