    摘要: An elastic wave damping structure can include a structural arrangement of at least two elements, each with an inner volume and containing a medium resistant to passage of an elastic wave. Example elements can be earth boreholes or water pylons. The structural arrangement can taper from an upper aperture to a lower aperture, the structural arrangement defining a protection zone at the upper aperture. The structural arrangement can be configured to attenuate power from the anticipated elastic wave within the protection zone relative to power from the anticipated elastic wave external to the protection zone. A grouping may include elements that form acute or obtuse angles with a direction of an elastic wave to attenuate wave power. High-value buildings or other structure in a protection zone on land or in water can be substantially shielded from seismic or water waves.

    摘要: A seismic device for insulating buildings comprises a group of at least three plates (1, 2, 3) overlapping each other and having respective faces facing each other shaped to define, between each pair (1, 2; 2, 3) of facing plates, at least one pair of channels (12). Each channels (12) house at least one roller (5, 6) adapted to allow relative sliding in a horizontal plane of the plates (1, 2, 3) for the absorption of horizontal oscillations produced by an earthquake. The channels (12) between the lower plate (1) and the intermediate plate (2) have a development direction orthogonal with respect to the channels (12) defined between the intermediate plate (2) and the top plate (3) of the group. Elastic damping means are also provided and arranged below the group of plates (1, 2, 3) and comprise a plurality of cushions (9) inflated to a predetermined controlled pressure and arranged below the lower plate (1) to raise said group from the ground and absorb the load and the vertical oscillations produced by the earthquake.

    摘要: Seismic base isolation and energy dissipation device using a plurality of multi-walled swing plate's that are placed on many central walls that are attached to a base support structure. This arrangement creates a strong load bearing multi-walled swing beam that moves in true pendulum fashion. This system is placed between the structural load and its foundation. This seismic wave base isolation system has the purpose of absorbing seismic wave displacement energy in all directions. This unique design can scale up for very large and heavy loads or scale down to protect sensitive cargo and equipment from destructive motion. The multi-walled swing plates inside the multi-walled swing beam will provide support and absorption of motion by moving as a pendulum and therefore redirecting and dissipating seismic energy. This invention is particularly suited to reduce the initial shock of horizontal ground displacement. This system has a simple design shape and is therefore inexpensive to construct, is easy to engineer and deploy, it requires no uncommon material and requires very little maintenance or advanced electronics.

In an earthquake, a construction platform floating on a buffer medium may experience greatly reduced shear forces.
