Abstract:
A vehicle door includes a lock cylinder having an actuator member that is operably connected to a door latch mechanism. A door handle moves from a first or home position covering an outer end of the lock cylinder to a partially open position wherein the outer end of the lock cylinder is exposed. When the door handle is in the partially open position, a user can access the lock cylinder and insert a key into the lock cylinder to unlock the door. Thus, the lock cylinder is covered and hidden behind a portion of the door handle when the door handle is in the first position to provide an uncluttered, visually appealing appearance.
Abstract:
A device attachable to a key that allows an individual with limited dexterity to handle the key and use it according to its ordinary function. The device provides a Y-shaped handle, such as that structured by a section of antler, that attaches to a key and provides each of the geometric and structural requirements necessary for the user to pick up the key from a flat surface, insert the key into a lock or switch aperture, and turn the key once inserted. The Y-shaped component is curved across its height dimension and provides a yoke engagement structure to permit holding the device with key to exert a force sufficient to insert the key into a lock or switch, and by a combination of forces exerted by the palm or back of the hand and the thumb, to rotate the key/device combination in order to activate the lock or switch.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The invention relates to a remote control device with a stowable key, in particular for an automobile, which comprises a remote control casing including two lower (1) and upper (2) shells, an insert (3) defining a key-bit pivotally mounted between an extended use position and a stowed position inside the casing, and an elastic return mechanism for returning the insert to the extended position, which comprises a push button (4) provided on the upper shell (2). According to the invention, the insert (3) rotates directly about said button (4) which is rotatingly connected with the upper shell (2), and includes rotational indexing means with said insert (3) that can be declutched by pushing said button (4).
Abstract:
A key, primarily a remote control key for automobiles, with a housing that has an upper shell and a lower shell and a key held between the upper shell and the lower shell. To make the key housing more esthetically pleasing and easier to manufacture, the lower shell consists of a transparent plastic joined by laser welding to a colored core of the upper shell.
Abstract:
A combined mechanical and electronic key includes a housing with an edge area having a link configured with grooves, electronics disposed in the housing, a key portion, which has a bearing surface mounted in a rotatable manner about an axis along the link, an activating element in the bearing surface having at least two radially projecting wings and a radially projecting driver, where the activating element is movable between a passive and an active position, the key portion is movable between an inoperative position and an operative position, where in the inoperative and operative positions, in which the activating element occupies the passive position, each wing is in a respective groove, and during the movement between the inoperative and operative positions, in which the activating element occupies the active position, the wings are detached from the grooves, and the driver engages with a contour of the bearing surface.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a retractable key comprising an upper half-shell (3) and a lower half-shell which are assembled together so as to form a housing, and an insert-extending module configured so as to be mounted in said housing. The insert-extending module includes: an insert pivotably mounted in the housing between a retracted position and an deployed position, a push button (8) axially projecting from the upper half-shell (3) so as to be axially pressed by a user and comprising a rotation-locking means (9) engaging with a corresponding rotation-locking means (10) of the housing, the rotation-locking means (9, 10) guiding the push button (8) in axial translation (A-A), an elastic return element, a first end of which is attached to the insert and a second end of which is attached to the push button (8) in order to urge the insert to pivot toward the extended position when the push button (8) is pressed, and a retaining means (17) supported by the push button (8) and engaging with a complementary retaining means (18) of a half-shell of the housing, said retaining means (17, 18) being configured so as to enable the axial translation (A-A) of the push button (8).
Abstract:
A key (1) having one end (6) secured to a yoke (7) mounted in a casing (2) to turn between a position in which the key is retracted inside the casing and a position in which the key is extended, and a control pushbutton (17) mounted in the yoke to be constrained to pivot therewith, and to slide between an extended position for blocking the yoke in which the pushbutton possesses at least one stud (25) received in a notch (26) of a portion of the casing, and a pushed-in position for releasing the yoke to pivot, in which position the stud escapes from the notch, a spring (18) being interposed between the casing and the control pushbutton to urge the yoke resiliently towards the extended position and the control pushbutton towards its blocking position, the notch being formed in a washer (13) that is fitted in said portion of the casing, and the washer being harder than the casing.
Abstract:
The invention provides a key (10), of the type comprising a stem (14) which is retractable in relation to a case (12), in which the stem (14) comprises a lug (18), by means of which it is articulated in relation to the case (12), which comprises angular locking means (22) for locking the stem (14) in the retracted position and angular locking means (22) for locking the stem (14) in the deployed position, characterized in that the locking means comprise a single locking element (22) mounted such that it can move inside the case (12), which co-operates directly with the lug (18) of the stem (14) in order to lock the stem (14) in the retracted or deployed position.
Abstract:
A key fob assembly for a vehicle that includes a housing is provided. A mechanical key includes a key holder for rotation to and from the housing. The key holder includes first and second ends positioned opposite to each other. The key holder defines an opening extending between the ends for defining a pivot axis to facilitate the rotational movement of the mechanical key. The spring cover is coupled to the key holder and positioned about the second end of the opening. The spring is positioned within the opening and is coupled to the spring cover. The button is coupled to the spring and is releasably coupled to the first end for preventing rotational movement of the key holder when the button is coupled to the first end and for facilitating rotational movement of the key holder about the pivot axis when the button is released from the key holder.
