    Abstract: An electronic key for a vehicle includes an upper case component of a key case, a lower case component attachable to the upper case component, and a mechanical key that is selected from among a first mechanical key that is used in a state of being totally removed from the key case and a second mechanical key that is used in a protruding state of partially protruding from the key case. The lower case component is selected, so as to correspond to the mechanical key, from among a first lower case component that accommodates the first mechanical key to be removable and a second lower case component that accommodates the second mechanical key to be movable into the protruding state.

    Abstract: A vehicle door includes a lock cylinder having an actuator member that is operably connected to a door latch mechanism. A door handle moves from a first or home position covering an outer end of the lock cylinder to a partially open position wherein the outer end of the lock cylinder is exposed. When the door handle is in the partially open position, a user can access the lock cylinder and insert a key into the lock cylinder to unlock the door. Thus, the lock cylinder is covered and hidden behind a portion of the door handle when the door handle is in the first position to provide an uncluttered, visually appealing appearance.

    Abstract: A battery-free smart key with infrared system (IR) comprises a receiving coil, a side controller, and an infrared data association (IRDA) communication transmitter (TX) module. The receiving coil is able to receive electromagnetic waves with a wireless power and a certification data transmitted from an outside system. The side controller is used for processing the certification data and distributing the wireless power transmitted from the receiving coil. The IRDA communication TX module is coupled to the side controller and is able to transmit an IRDA communication signal with at least one certain user information. When the security entry system receives the correct IRDA communication signal, a door or an entry system can be unlocked. A car entry with IR system combined therewith is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A system and method for employing BLE nodes in a PEPS system to determine whether a FOB is within or outside of a vehicle. The method includes interrogating the FOB using a signal transmitted by a BLE device on the vehicle to determine whether the FOB is in a predetermined vicinity of the vehicle and receiving a Bluetooth signal at the BLE device that is transmitted by the FOB if the FOB is in the vicinity of the vehicle. The method also included determining a transmit power of the Bluetooth signal transmitted by the FOB and determining a receive power of the Bluetooth signal transmitted by the FOB and received by the BLE device. The method uses the transmit power and the receive power in a comparison process to determine whether the FOB is inside or outside of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A lock core includes a rotation mechanism and a clutch mechanism for separating the unlocking and opening processes of locks and prevents the lock from being unlocked destructively. The rotation mechanism comprises a plug and a plug sleeve. The clutch mechanism comprises a group of discs and a sidebar. The rotation mechanism is triggered by the clutch mechanism. Therefore the primary key for the clutch mechanism locks/unlocks the rotation mechanism. A secondary key is introduced for turning the rotation mechanism to open the lock core. The primary key and the secondary key are combined by another mechanism comprises two slots, two rivets and a spring.
