    摘要: A sliding door arrangement comprises a door which is slidably moved and is arranged to enclose an opening, a rail assembly coupled to the door allows the slidable movement of the door for opening and closing the opening and a securing mechanism which pulls the door inward so that the door engages the opening. The rail assembly has a rail system which is positioned at a top end and at a bottom end of the door and the rail system is mounted on a housing, a plurality of guides coupled to the door, the guides engage the rail assembly such that the door is slidable in a substantially horizontal direction. At least one shaft having a vertical axis is rotated about the vertical axis by the securing mechanism, the shaft has first end and a second end such that each end is respectively coupled to the rail assembly, the rail assembly has a rail system which is positioned at a top end and at a bottom end of the door and are mounted on a housing. A cam is mounted to a first end and a second cam is mounted to a second end of at least one vertical shaft and each cam is coupled to one guide of the plurality of guides, the cams are substantially coaxial and are parallel to a vertical axis of the shaft, each cam is mounted respectively to the guides wherein the vertical axis of the cams are off set in respect to the vertical axis of the shaft such that the shaft is arranged to rotate about the vertical axis of the cam, a first rotation of the shaft forces the door into the opening and a second rotation of the shaft forces the door away from the opening while the guides remain on the rail system, the shaft is driven by a rotation device of the securing mechanism, the rotation device pivots about a generally vertical axis such that a drive mechanism which extends outwardly substantially perpendicular to the axis of the rotation device and is coupled to the shaft.

    摘要: A railroad car door of a type which is laterally movable outwardly from a door opening and slidable to one side thereof includes a pipe and crank mechanism for moving the door laterally and for sliding locking bolts into engagement with a door frame to lock the same in a closed position. An operating mechanism includes a rotatable pinion drive means which is adapted to drive racks on the locking bolts for reciprocating the same. The pinion is rotatable by means of a handle lever movable in a position parallel to the door for rotating the pinion to effectuate operation of the sliding bolts. The handle is also connected to a linkage assembly which during horizontal movement rotates the pipe and crank arms for moving the door outwardly with respect to the door opening. The linkage assembly is also connected to the handle which after it has been rotated to a position opening the locking bolt is movable in another direction to effectuate operation of the pipe and crank arms.

    摘要: A sliding door is provided for use on a rail car having a floor and a side wall with an opening therein along one side of the floor. The opening is defined by a pair of side posts having respective front surface and a top and bottom sill. The front surfaces of the side posts define a sealing surface lying in a common vertical sealing plane with respective sealing surfaces of the top and bottom sill. The door is slidable on rails between an open position and a closed position across the opening. Pivotal mounting members mount the door on the rails for movement of the door in the closed position transversely to the rails and inwardly toward the opening from an outer sliding position to an inner sealed position. The door includes two side beams, a top beam and a bottom beam, each having a surface within a common plane for sealing with the respective sealing surface in the common vertical sealing plane of the opening.

The sliding door arrangement comprises a rail system on the body at the opening, the rail system has a top rail and a bottom rail horizontally orientated and located at a top side and a bottom side respectively of the opening, a housing defining the door which is arranged to close upon the opening, a rail assembly coupled to the housing and connected to the rail system at a top side and a bottom side of the housing respectively such that the housing is slidably moved in a generally horizontal direction on the rail system for opening and closing the opening, a rigid frame within the housing for providing structure to the housing and a securing mechanism which is arranged to pull the door inward towards the opening for engagement thereon. The securing mechanism has at least one shaft generally vertical in orientation located within the housing on the frame and a cam within the housing on each end of the shaft having an end which is coupled to the rail assembly such that rotation of the shaft forces the door inward on the opening.
