    摘要: A lightweight bus window construction has a window frame with a generally U-shaped channel around its lateral edges. A step is provided adjacent the opening of the U-shaped channel along the lower edge with a lip extending above the step along the edge. A thin sheet of plastic glazing material in the frame has its upper and side edges within the U-shaped channel along the upper and side edges, and the lower edge of the sheet rests on the step. The sheet is sufficiently thin that it will flex for fitting the upper and side edges into the channel without disassembling the frame. An elastomeric gasket fills the space between the sheet of glazing material and the face of the U-shaped channel on the opposite of the channel from the lip. The gasket includes a portion along the lower edge extending upwardly above the opening of the U-shaped channel and engaging the face of the sheet of glazing material opposite to the lip. The elastomeric gasket secures the glazing material within the frame.

    摘要: “A security window assembly comprising a frame having four members and a pane member securable within the frame. The bottom member of the frame contains a milled groove. The top member of the frame contains a stepped groove having a first groove of a first depth and a second groove of a second and deeper depth. The pane is installed by sliding it into the second depth groove to allow it clearance to then be installed in the bottom member groove. The pane can only be removed by sliding it into the second depth groove which removes the pane from the bottom member groove. When in place in the window, the pane is positioned within the bottom member groove and within the first depth groove of the top member. Clamps hold the pane in place.”

    摘要: A multi-window sash comprising: a frame structure; a plurality of sash units, to each of which a panel is mounted which are connected with each other in a panel width direction, each of the sash units comprising bilateral vertical frame members, an upper frame member and a lower frame member which constitute a rectangular frame of the sash unit in combination thereof; and a mullion structure connecting adjacent two sash units and including at least a mullion having an expandable structure. The expandable mullion structure comprises a first mullion section attached to one sash unit and having one side surface in a panel width direction provided with a recessed portion and having water-tight member attachments and guide pieces which are attached to respective opposing inner surfaces of the recessed portion, water-tight members mounted to the respective water tight member attachments, and a second mullion structure attached to another one sash unit adjacent to the one sash unit and fitted to the recessed portion of the first mullion section in the panel width direction. The water-tight members are mounted so as to be pressed against both side end surfaces in a panel thickness direction of the second mullion section and the guide pieces are disposed so as to oppose to both the side end surfaces in the panel thickness direction of the second mullion section with gaps, respectively, to thereby impart an expandable function to the first and second mullion sections.

The narrow face effect is achieved by providing opposed shallow glazing pockets; however, contiguous with one of the shallow pockets is a deep glazing area so that the glass or other panel may be first inserted into the deep glazing area of one mullion, and then shifted from the deep glazing area to the normal shallow glazing area contiguous therewith to provide retention of the panel in confronting shallow glazing pockets.

    摘要: In a sash frame structure for attaching a glass in which a glass is supported in glass attachment channels formed to respective frame members constituting a sash frame by first side seal members and second side seal members disposed on the opposite sides of the glass, the glass is so provided as not to be scattered in pieces even if it is broken. A seal member fitting groove is formed to each of the frame members adjacently to the glass attachment channel, and an engaging portion is formed to the inner surface of the glass attachment channel on the side adjacent to the seal member fitting groove. One of the first side seal member and the second side seal member is a shaped seal gasket having a sealing portion and a fitting portion integrally formed with each other, and the sealing portion is adapted to be forced to be fitted in a space between the glass and the inner surface of the glass attachment channel and engaged on the engaging portion while the fitting portion is adapted to is fitted in the seal member fitting groove.

    摘要: The invention provides a thermal break configuration in a flush glazed, two-piece mullion which permits a reduced face dimension without reducing the depth of the glazing channels of the mullion. The invention is directed to a thermal break segmented filler assembly for the shallow glazing pocket in narrow flush glazed two-piece framing for curtainwalls, storefronts, and the like. The two-piece mullions have a major portion and a filler portion, both of which are extruded profiles. The filler assembly incorporates a thin thermal break which makes it possible to reduce the mullion face dimension and still provide a glazing pocket depth equal to that of conventional flush glazed thermal framing. The thin thermal break of the filler assembly includes a plastic channel extrusion having rigid upturned legs with relatively soft barbs which engage channels in aluminum extrusion filler halves. The thermal break filler element is snap fit onto and between the filler halves to form a three-piece filler assembly.

    摘要: A privacy wall for joining a floor and ceiling, which wall includes a lower panel projecting upwardly from the floor, and a privacy panel extending vertically between the ceiling and the upper edge of the lower panel. The privacy panel has upper and lower edges supported within retainers confined within recesses defined by support tracks. The upper and lower retainers are identical but reversely vertically oriented relative to the respective recesses. Each retainer includes a central base wall and pairs of first and second legs projecting outwardly in opposite directions to define first and second oppositely oriented channels which accommodate the edge of the privacy panel therein. The first legs are short and inclined inwardly so that the lower edge of the panel can be sealingly accommodated therebetween. The second legs are of greater length and have sideward flanges adjacent the ends thereof. The upper retainer is oriented with the second legs projecting downwardly, with the deflected second legs being sealingly engaged with opposite sides of the privacy panel.
