    摘要: An engine assembly includes an oil pan including an oil pan body defining a cavity. The oil pan body includes a dividing wall separating the cavity into a first compartment and a second compartment. The engine assembly further includes a drip tray coupled to the oil pan body. The drip tray is disposed over the second compartment and can direct oil to the first compartment where the oil is warmed up initially in order to minimize the time it takes to heat the oil when the internal combustion engine is warming up. The engine assembly further includes an oil scraper coupled to the oil pan body. The oil scraper is disposed over the drip tray and can scrape oil from a crankshaft.

    摘要: In an oil pan inner tank valve structure, a disc-shaped float valve is arranged below a valve port that provides fluid communication between the inside and outside of a bottom wall of an inner tank, and a lower cover is arranged below the float valve. In addition, a center recess is depressed at a lower surface center of the float valve, and a lateral movement restricting pin is upright from the lower cover and is constantly engaged with the center recess by recess/protrusion engagement. The lower cover restricts a vertically movable range of the float valve. In addition, the lateral movement restricting pin restricts lateral movement of the float valve so that a top portion of an upper surface bulged portion vertically constantly faces an area inside a valve seat.

    摘要: The volume of lubricating oil stored in the sump of an internal combustion engine for a vehicle is in significant excess of the volume of oil circulating through the engine at any one time. The circulating oil, drawn from the sump, may be rapidly heated during its passage through the engine, but the excess volume remaining in the sump dilutes and cools the circulating oil as it returns to the sump. By separating the oil volume into a portion which is circulated through the engine and a second portion which has only limited opportunity to mix with and cool the circulating oil the circulating oil may attain its operating temperature more rapidly. Once the stored volume of oil in the engine has also reached its operating temperature the circulating oil and stored oil may be recombined.

A valve connects the first and second chambers with one another in an open position of the valve. The valve is switched temperature dependent, wherein the valve is closed at a temperature below a switching temperature. An outlet opening communicates with the first oil chamber. The first oil chamber has a first oil volume and the second oil chamber has a second oil volume, wherein the first oil volume is smaller than the second oil volume. The outlet opening is positioned in an exterior wall of the first oil chamber and provides a connecting opening for connecting an oil cooler to be connected to an exterior wall of the casing.

    摘要: An oil catching system for an internal-combustion engine, particularly for an opposed cylinder engine, has an oil catching housing arranged below a crankcase. An oil suction space is provided in the oil catching housing from which the lubricating oil is transported by way of a main oil pump equipped with an oil suction pipe to consuming devices. At least one oil collecting space adjoins the oil suction space, in which oil collecting space the lubricating oil coming from the consuming devices is returned by way of an oil pipe. The oil suction space is separated from the oil collecting space by at least one oil separating wall, in which at least one passage opening is arranged which can be controlled by way of a flap, by way of which passage opening the lubricating oil can flow from the oil collecting space into the oil suction space.
