    摘要: An internal combustion engine using a two stroke cycle includes a pair of opposing cylinder units, each of which are located on opposing sides of a crankcase. In each cylinder unit is a cylinder with a piston disposed in the cylinder. Each piston is coupled to a piston rod that is aligned along an axis that passes through the center of each cylinder bore. The piston rods pass through the crankcase wall into the crankcase chamber, and are further coupled to a yoke. Each cylinder unit has an intake channel from the crankcase chamber to a cylinder intake port in the cylinder. As the piston traverses its upstroke in its cylinder, it creates a vacuum under the piston. At the top of its stroke a piston intake port becomes aligned with the cylinder intake port, allow fuel to be drawn into the cylinder under the piston. As a result, a continuous vacuum is experienced in the crankcase without the need for mechanical valving arrangements.

The connecting rod is connected on the crankshaft side to a transverse bearing for a sliding block, the sliding block being mounted such that it can move to and fro in the transverse bearing and a rolling contact bearing being arranged in the sliding block in order to receive the crank pin of a crankshaft. At least one cavity is formed in the piston crown and, in the area thereof close to the piston longitudinal axis, is connected to an oil feed line running through the connecting rod and that the oil feed line in the connecting rod is led or extended to the end region thereof remote from the piston and, from there, is led onward into the interior of the transverse bearing via a transfer channel.

    摘要: An oil catching system for an internal-combustion engine, particularly for an opposed cylinder engine, has an oil catching housing arranged below a crankcase. An oil suction space is provided in the oil catching housing from which the lubricating oil is transported by way of a main oil pump equipped with an oil suction pipe to consuming devices. At least one oil collecting space adjoins the oil suction space, in which oil collecting space the lubricating oil coming from the consuming devices is returned by way of an oil pipe. The oil suction space is separated from the oil collecting space by at least one oil separating wall, in which at least one passage opening is arranged which can be controlled by way of a flap, by way of which passage opening the lubricating oil can flow from the oil collecting space into the oil suction space.

    摘要: To reduce the number of parts, improve the mountability and maintainability, and allow for a reduction in the size and weight an engine is provided having a crankshaft, a crankcase having a plurality of bearing portions for rotatably supporting the crankshaft with each of the bearing portions being dividable along a divisional plane arranged on the axis of the crankshaft. Cylinder barrels are connected to the crankcase and include cylinder bores with cylinder heads connected to the cylinder barrels. The cylinder heads are integrated with portions of the cylinder barrels forming at least the cylinder bores to form cylinder blocks. The cylinder blocks and the crankcase are fastened together by a plurality of fastening bolts having axes parallel to the axes of the cylinder bores and extending through at least the cylinder blocks, with a compressive structure in the axial direction of the fastening bolts.

A crankcase has coolant supply passages for guiding a coolant from a pump and coolant return passages for guiding a coolant delivered out of cylinder jackets. The coolant supply passages and the coolant return passages extend substantially parallel to the axis of a crankshaft. The cylinder jackets and head jackets are formed wherein the coolant supplied from the coolant supply passages returns from the cylinder jackets via the head jackets to the cylinder jackets.

    摘要: To provide a four-cycle engine, in which a pair of intake valve ports is openable/closable by respective intake valves and a pair of exhaust valve ports is openable/closable by respective exhaust valves. The pair of intake valve ports and the pair of exhaust valve ports are provided in a cylinder head such that they are positioned on both sides of a first virtual plane which contains the axial line of the cylinder bore and passes through an approximately central portion of the combustion chamber. A pair of ignition plugs is mounted in the cylinder head. The pair of ignition plugs is mounted such that the degradation of a flame propagation condition is minimized, even if accidental firing of either of the ignition plugs occurs. The pair of ignition plugs is disposed substantially symmetrically with respect to a second virtual plane which passes through the center of a combustion chamber and is perpendicular to the first virtual plane. The ignition plugs are mounted in the cylinder head such that they have axial lines extending substantially in parallel to the first virtual plane. The ignition plugs are tilted with a distance therebetween becoming smaller toward the combustion chamber. End portions of the ignition plugs, which project into the combustion chamber, are disposed in a region surrounded by the intake valve ports and the exhaust valve ports.
