Abstract: A compressor including a hinge recess formed at a rolling piston and a hinge protrusion formed at a vane to be inserted into the hinge recess. A diameter of the hinge protrusion is greater than an interval between both ends of an opening of the hinge recess. A bearing surface, which comes in contact with an inner circumferential surface of the hinge recess, of an outer circumferential surface of the hinge protrusion, has a circumferential surface below 90° at both sides, respectively, based on a central line in a lengthwise direction of the vane. This structure may facilitate cutting and grinding of the bearing surface so as to produce machining costs, and also improve a machining degree and thus stabilize behaviors of the rolling piston and the vane so as to enhance compression efficiency.

Abstract: A rotary compressor (102) has a shaft (4), a cylinder (5), a piston (8), a first vane (32), and a second vane (33). The first vane (32) divides a space between the cylinder (5) and the piston (8) along a circumferential direction of the piston (8). The second vane (33) further divides the space divided by the first vane (32) along the circumferential direction of the piston (8) so that a first compression chamber (25) and a second compression chamber (26) having a smaller volume than the first compression chamber (25) are formed within the cylinder (5). The piston (8) and the second vane (33) are integrated together, or the piston (8) and the second vane (33) are coupled together.

Abstract: A method of operating a rolling piston compressor includes determining a pressure difference (ΔP) between a discharge pressure (Pd) within a compression volume and a suction pressure (Ps) within a suction volume; determining a pressure ratio (rp) equal to the discharge pressure (Pd) over the suction pressure (Ps); estimating a discharge pressure (Pd) based at least in part on the pressure difference (ΔP) and the pressure ratio (rp); determining that the discharge pressure (Pd) is greater than a predetermined pressure limit (Pd-limit); and lowering a target speed (ωtarget) of the rolling piston compressor.
