Abstract:
A liquid-cooled rotary compressor includes a compressor main body having a compression chamber formed by a fixed wall and a rotating wall and compressing gas, and a liquid injection path for injecting a coolant into the compression chamber, and adjusts a discharge flow rate by changing a rotational speed of the rotating wall. The compressor includes a liquid amount adjusting unit that adjusts an amount of the coolant supplied from the liquid injection path to the compressor main body according to a change in the rotational speed of the rotating wall, and a compressed gas supply path that supplies compressed gas to a downstream side of the liquid amount adjusting unit in the liquid injection path. The compressed gas is supplied from the compressed gas supply path to the liquid injection path according to the amount of the coolant supplied to the compressor main body.
Abstract:
A compressor system can include a lubricant injection system useful to supply lubricant to an airend. The compressor system can include a variable lubricant flow valve which can be regulated by a controller on the basis of operating conditions of the compressor system. In one form the compressor system also includes an oil separator and/or an oil cooler with or without a thermal control valve. The controller can have one or more modes of operation, including a mode in which the controller regulates the flow of lubricant to the airend to increase an internal flow area of the valve when the airend is operated at an unloaded or loaded condition. In some forms the controller can regulate the lubricant flow valve and/or the thermal control valve and/or the lubricant cooler.
Abstract:
A screw machine, in particular screw compressor, includes a machine housing, screw rotors forming a rotor pair which is mounted in the machine housing, an oil supply system via which bearings and seals of the screw rotors can be supplied with oil for lubricating and/or cooling, wherein the oil supply system has an oil supply and oil feeds, wherein the oil supply system includes a pressure sensor, which detects a pressure in the oil discharge or oil return or a pressure difference between the pressure in the oil discharge or oil return and a pressure in the oil feeds, the oil supply system furthermore includes a control device, which open-loop or closed-loop controls the pressure in the oil feed or the pressure difference dependent on the measurement signal of the pressure sensor.
Abstract:
A system includes a compressor with an orbiting scroll member having a first end plate and a first spiral wrap. A non-orbiting scroll member has a second end plate and a second spiral wrap, the second spiral wrap forming a meshing engagement with the first spiral wrap to create a plurality of compression chambers between a suction port and a discharge port. A first port in communication with a first of the plurality of compression chambers selectively injects an injection fluid into the first of the plurality of compression chambers to increase a compressor capacity and selectively leaks a first compressed fluid from the first of the plurality of compression chambers to reduce the compressor capacity. A second port in communication with a second of the plurality of compression chambers selectively leaks a second compressed fluid from the second of the plurality of compression chambers to reduce a compressor capacity.

Abstract:
A screw compressor includes a casing, a screw rotor, an oil sump containing lubricant oil, a lubrication passage and a flow rate controller. The screw rotor is inserted in a cylinder portion of the casing to form a fluid chamber. The screw rotor rotates to suck a fluid into the fluid chamber for compression. The lubrication passage supplies the lubricant oil in the oil sump to the fluid chamber due to a difference in pressure between the oil sump and the fluid chamber. The flow rate controller reduces a flow rate of the lubricant oil supplied to the fluid chamber in accordance with a decrease in operating capacity of the screw compressor.
Abstract:
A shunt pulsation trap for a rotary lobe blower (pump) or vacuum pump reduces pulsation, NVH and improves efficiency without increasing overall size of the blower or pump. Generally, a rotary lobe blower (pump) or vacuum pump with the shunt pulsation trap has a pair of interconnected and synchronized parallel multi-lobe rotors housed in a transfer chamber with the same number of lobes for propelling flow from a suction port to a discharge port of the transfer chamber without internal compression. The shunt pulsation trap comprises an inner casing as an integral part of the transfer chamber, and an outer casing oversized surrounding the inner casing, therein housed various pulsation dampening means or pulsation energy recovery means or pulsation containment means, at least one injection port (trap inlet) branching off from the transfer chamber into the pulsation trap chamber and at least one feedback port (trap outlet) communicating with the blower outlet pressure.
Abstract:
A compressor system includes a pair of compressors located in a common shell. A common drive shaft drives both compressors and the drive shaft is powered by a single motor. One or both of the compressors can be equipped with a pulse width modulated capacity control system and a vapor injection system. When one compressor is equipped with these systems, the capacity can be varied between 50% and 110%. When both compressors are equipped with these systems, the capacity can be varied between 0% and 120%.
