    摘要: A retaining device for securing one or more accessory racks to a base rack on a vehicle is provided herein. The device comprises a housing member that extends through the one or more accessory racks and into the base rack, a head, secured to the housing member that engages one or other of the racks, a detent that engages the other of the racks, and an engagement mechanism that extends the detent and pulls it toward the head. The device may further comprise a lock that secures the detent in a clamping position. The lock may comprise a ratchet and pawl arrangement defined by first and second levered tabs disposed on the head, the first tab being operably connected to the engagement mechanism. An ATV comprising one or more accessory racks secured to a base rack by a retaining device as described herein is also provided.

    摘要: A plant holder has a basket formed from a base and a peripheral sidewall around the base. A support arm extends upward from the base at a flat region of the sidewall. A hook at the distal end of the support arm may be inserted into a hole in a vertical surface such as a wall. The basket is then suspended from the support arm and the flat region of the sidewall abuts and is flush with the vertical surface. The support arm may be angled slightly inward toward the center of the basket in order to provide additional force holding the plant holder against the vertical surface it is suspended from.

    摘要: A fastener comprises a housing, a pintle and a locking feature. The housing includes a shaft, a central bore that extends axially at least partially through the housing and a ball lock aperture extending from the bore radially out through the shaft. The pintle is positioned within the bore and includes an actuation end and a rod that extends axially from the actuation end. The rod includes a ball transitioning surface and a ball locking surface. The pintle is moveable axially within the bore between a designated lock position where the ball locking surface of the pintle is aligned in register with each ball lock aperture urging a locking ball through the ball lock aperture, and a designated unlocked position where the ball lock surface of the pintle is moved axially away from each ball lock aperture allowing the locking ball to recess into the housing.

    摘要: In one embodiment a method to join a first structure to a second structure, comprises aligning a first hole in the first structure with a second hole in the second structure and inserting a fastener into the first hole and the second hole. The fastener comprises a shape memory alloy which was formed into a first shape having a diameter slightly larger than a diameter of the first hole and the second hole when the shape memory alloy was in an austenite state and reduced to a second shape having a diameter less than the diameter of the first hole and the second hole when the shape memory alloy was in a martensite state. The method further comprises heating the fastener above an austenite start transition temperature, such that the fastener initiates free expansion from the second shape back to the first shape and establishes physical contact with the surface of the first hole and the second hole and continuing to heat the fastener such that first structure and the second structure proximate the holes and the fastener undergo plastic deformation.

The strand arrangement is embodied such and/or is made of such a material that the strand arrangement can be expanded at an angle to the longitudinal axis (L). Such a dowel has the particular advantage of evenly distributing the pressure which acts upon the wall surface (102) of a bore. A single-size dowel can be used for several screw diameters. Furthermore, the amount of boring dust produced is significantly reduced, less power is required for drilling the bore, and the feed force applied to the drill can be decreased because a bore with a comparatively small diameter can be created.

    摘要: An anchor for attaching objects to a metal stud having a stud wall with inner and outer faces. The anchor has a cylindrical body having an inner end that is conical and an opening at its mid-portion. A plurality of fins extend from the anchor body adjacent the outer end, adapted to abut the outer face of a metal stud. A threaded bore extends along the longitudinal axis of the anchor body. A stud wedge is attached at its inner end to the anchor body by hinge means. The hinge means allow the stud wedge to be depressed into the opening during insertion of the anchor through a hole drilled through the wall of a metal stud, but forces the stud wedge upwardly after insertion of the anchor through the stud to lock the back side of the wedge against the inner face of the stud.
