    摘要: A one-piece, self-locking nut is formed with a threaded nut body integrally formed with crush-locking lips on a forward contact face of the nut body spaced by an internal relief cut for accommodating deformation of the crush-locking lips therein. When the nut is tightened down on an object on a fastener bolt, the crush-locking lips are forced inwardly and deformed on the threaded shaft of the fastener bolt into the space of the internal relief cut in order to form a permanent lock on the fastener bolt. The one-piece, self-locking nut can be fabricated by conventional nut manufacturing methods. In use it threads on quickly like a conventional nut and installs with conventional tools.

In at least a first embodiment, the invention provides a looseness preventive nut 1 which is a nut threadedly engaging with a bolt 10, the nut being configured so that a lateral groove 3 extending in the radial direction in the range such that at least a part of a threaded portion 2 is cut, preferably in the range beyond the centerline C of the nut, is formed at a position slightly lower than a substantially middle point of the nut in the height direction.

    摘要: A lock nut threadably engageable and lockingly retainable about a threaded shaft extending through a workpiece, the lock nut having at least one deformable slot disposed on a side portion thereof and disposed transversely relative to the lock nut bore axis, the lock nut also having a nut deforming member protruding from a bottom end thereof, wherein at least a portion of the nut deforming member is in substantial axial alignment with the deformable slot. The lock nut is undeformed prior to installation thereof about the threaded shaft. The nut deforming member is engageable with the workpiece to deform the lock nut upon threadably installing the lock nut about the threaded shaft, thereby retaining the lock nut thereabout, whereby the lock nut has a relatively consistent torque performance with reduced statistical spread over several installation and removal cycles of the nut about the threaded shaft. The nut deforming member is an annular portion of the skirt disposed peripherally on the bottom end of the lock nut, which may have a substantially countersunk surface. The lock nut may alternatively include a spring washer rotatably coupled thereto.
