    Abstract: A bearing assembly can comprise: a base member including at least one base ramp; a carriage member including: a first surface defining a bearing channel, the bearing channel configured to receive a plurality of ball bearings and allow recirculating movement of the ball bearings, the bearing channel having a variable depth, wherein the bearing channel having a variable depth is configured to allow the plurality of ball bearings to extend beyond the first surface at a first portion of the bearing channel and extend below the first surface at a second portion of the bearing channel; a second surface opposing the first surface, the second surface including at least one carriage ramp, the carriage ramp configured to engage the at least one base ramp; and a retaining member configured to cover a least a portion of the first surface and retain the ball bearings in the carriage member.

    Abstract: A linear handling unit is provided with a first body (11), which carries opposite linear bearings (16) in the front and a fluid-type linear actuator (19). A second body carries, longitudinally, two lateral studs (29) for guiding and for coupling with the linear bearings for the movements of one body on the other.     Abstract: A circulating roller track or raceway is formed in a bearing block formed as a one-piece injection molding. The circulating roller track is interrupted by a bearing track or bearing raceway insert. The bearing track is raised above the plane of the circulating track and transitional ramp surfaces are provided. This bearing raceway insert has a mounting surface at the exterior of the bearing block at a calibrated distance or spacing from the bearing portion of the roller raceway. Thus only two precision components, a roller member and a bearing raceway insert, are required to obtain an accurate spacing between two mutually guided or bearing components.

    Abstract: A recirculating ball bearing assembly mountable between two objects to facilitate movement therebetween. The ball bearing assembly comprises a body portion having one or more recessed sides, and an elongated opening in the body portion extending through the sides. An elongated inner race plate having arcuate ends extends through the opening with at least one side portion of the plate extending into a complementary recess to form an endless inner surface of a ball bearing track. The smooth uninterrupted outer surface of each recess has a straight portion and integral arcuate end portions forming a major portion of the outer surface of the endless ball bearing track. The recesses and outer surface terminate at a flat surface of the body portion, which faces and is spaced from a bearing surface of one of the objects. The bearing surface forms a minor portion of the outer surface of the endless ball bearing track. A cover plate is provided over the recessed side or sides of the body portion for holding the ball bearings in the endless ball bearing track or tracks.
