    摘要: A clutch structure of a transmission includes: a hub secured to a rotating shaft, a sleeve mounted on the hub so as to slide linearly, a clutch gear to rotate relative to the rotating shaft and integrally formed with a clutch cone, a first friction ring provided between the clutch gear and the hub to be pressed toward the clutch gear, a second friction ring having an inner surface to contact an outer surface of the clutch cone, and a middle cone having an inner surface to contact an outer surface of the second friction ring and an outer surface to contact an inner surface of the first friction ring. Each of the second friction ring and the middle cone is provided with a friction member on at least one of an inner diameter portion and an outer diameter portion each of the second friction ring and the middle cone.

    摘要: A strut-type synchronizer for coupling a gear to a rotating shaft includes a hub rotating with the shaft, a clutch ring rotatable with the gear, and a friction ring disposed between the hub and the clutch ring. The hub supports several struts for relative axial movement, as urged by an encircling splined sleeve through a detent, into engagement with the friction ring. The friction ring, which does not itself directly engage the sleeve, has a friction surface that is thus urged by the struts into engagement with a complementary friction surface of the clutch ring, whereupon relative rotation between the friction ring and the clutch ring ceases, the detent is overcome, and the sleeve's spline teeth engage complementary spline teeth on the clutch ring to fully engage the synchronizer. The friction surfaces include two axially-spaced frustoconical portions, by which an increased cone torque is achieved during synchronization.

    摘要: A synchronizer for a manual transmission with a first and second idler gears rotatably mounted on a transmission shaft with a synchronizer sleeve non-rotatably mounted on the transmission shaft such that it can shift axially. The sleeve can be coupled to the first or second idler gear and comprises a shifting flange with through openings arranged around its periphery. A first and second synchronizer ring are separated by way of locking pins around the periphery, which can be inserted through the openings. At least one of the two synchronizer rings has an outer cone and an inner cone (double cone), that the double cone can be placed in non-positive contact simultaneously with an outer coupling ring that has an inner cone and an inner coupling ring that has an outer cone, and that the two coupling rings can be positively connected to the adjacent idler gear and axially supported against it.

The transfer case includes a center differential employing pinion and sun gears that allow a front drive shaft and a rear drive shaft to turn at different speeds to provide the all-wheel drive function. The transfer case further includes an electrically actuated synchronizer assembly that allows the speed of the front drive shaft to be synchronized to the speed of the rear drive shaft when shifting from two-wheel drive to all-wheel drive to provide the shift on the fly function. The synchronizer assembly also includes a neutral position where both the front drive shaft and the rear drive shaft are not engaged to the vehicle transmission to allow for vehicle towing.

    摘要: A frictional resistance coupling comprises an outer part and an inner part, which are connected to each other in a pressure-tight manner and between them form an inner chamber with a conical surface and a likewise conical, axially displaceable annular piston. The annular piston is moved axially due to the supply of pressure medium, for producing a radial tension and frictional resistance between two parts, e.g., a coupling and a shaft. Serving for determining the axial position of the enclosed annular piston is an axially disposed transmitter cylinder, which is connected to a receiver cylinder in the region of the outer surface of the coupling, by way of an incompressible medium. The piston of the receiver cylinder supports an indicator, whereof the position is monitored by an external sensor. The transmitter cylinder and receiver cylinder form a hydraulic linkage, preferably with displacement translation for monitoring even small piston movements with reliable control of whether the annular piston has reached its end position. For this purpose, the sensor monitors the position of the indicator attached to the receiver piston, on the outer periphery of the coupling.
