Abstract:
Disclosed in the present specification is to provide a connecting device for cables, in which a connecting portion and a length adjusting portion for connecting the cables are provided to be separated from each other, and a cable of a seat side and the connecting portion are easily attached to and detached from each other. According to one embodiment of the disclosure disclosed herein, proposed is a connecting device for cables, connecting a first cable connected to a folding unit of a seat of a first direction side and a third cable connected to a switch portion at a second direction side opposite to the first direction, the device including: a connecting portion; and a length adjusting portion.
Abstract:
A method for creating a termination by attaching some kind of fitting to the end of a tensile member such as a cable. The end fitting is provided with one or more internal cavities. Each cavity has a proximal portion that is adjacent to the area where the tensile member exits the fitting and a distal portion on its opposite end. A length of the tensile member's filaments is placed within this expanding cavity and infused with liquid potting compound. The method exploits the characteristic of a liquid potting compound as it transitions to a solid. Once the potting compound in at least a portion of the cavity has transitioned sufficiently to hold the filaments at a desired level, tension is placed on the tensile-member and a small linear displacement may be imposed on the tensile member. This linear displacement tends to pull the filaments residing in the potting compound into better alignment and improve load sharing. The invention can be applied to single fittings having multiple cavities and to multiple fittings having only one cavity per fitting.
Abstract:
A belt or a belt segment has a plurality of strength members that run in the longitudinal direction (X) and are disposed so as to be mutually parallel, and has a connection element forming one end of the belt, or of the belt segment and is configured to be connected to a further connection element at the other end of the belt, or to an end of a further belt segment, or is configured to connect two ends of the belt, or of the belt segment, wherein at least one end of a strength member is connected in a force-fitting manner to a clamping body, wherein the clamping body can be held in a form-fitting manner by the connection element at least in the longitudinal direction (X) through a strength member leadthrough. A strength member leadthrough in the longitudinal direction (X) has a widening facing the clamping body.
Abstract:
A method for creating a composite cable having at least one high-performance termination on at least one end. A high-performance termination is added to an end of a short synthetic tensile strength member. The strength of the tensile strength member and termination is then tested. Once tested satisfactorily, the short cable is spiced onto a long cable of the same type using prior art splicing techniques. The union of the short cable and the long cable creates a “composite” cable having a high-performance termination on at least one end. In most applications it is preferable to set the length of the short cable so that the interwoven splice will exist at a desired location.
Abstract:
A crimp sleeve for use with small enclosures has a body having an outer diameter and an opening having an inner diameter extending through the body. The sleeve joins a wire formed of stainless steel to a fiber formed of Vectran braid through the opening. The sleeve is formed of a material which has a high coefficient of friction relative to the wire, such as titanium.
Abstract:
Provided is a method for tagging and identifying wire rope comprising positioning a fitting over a wire rope having a first end, a second end and an internal portion; securing the fitting to the wire rope; and marking indicia directly onto the fitting with a laser. Also provided is a tagged wire rope comprising at least one fitting positioned and secured over a wire rope having a first end, a second end and an internal portion, wherein the at least one fitting includes indicia directly marked onto the fitting with a laser.
Abstract:
A locking quick connect fitting allows for the attachment and detachment of stays and rigging on sailboats and other related applications. The invention eliminates the need to handle clevis pins and cotter pins when setting up or tearing down the rigging of a sailboat, and especially for the standing rigging of a trailer able sailboat. Further, it can be tightened by wrench. In addition, the fitting helps keep the connection secure even if in the unlocked state. The presented invention is also modular and readily connectable to the rigging or fittings on existing sailboats. In order to avoid abandonment of the application, applicant must make these above agreed upon changes.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a cable positioning apparatus, including a base, a snap-fitting apparatus, and a cable clamp. The base includes a front side, a rear side opposite to the front side, and an end face connecting the front side and the rear side. The snap-fitting apparatus is arranged on the rear side of the base, and the snap-fitting apparatus includes a lock, where the lock is configured to retract to insert into a corresponding installation hole when external force is applied, and restore, when the external force is removed, to an initial position to be locked into the installation hole. Using the apparatuses according to the present invention, a cable is limited without using any other tool, thereby greatly reducing the time spent laying out and positioning a high density of cables.
Abstract:
A wire rope assembly unit including a wire rope and a device for assembling the wire rope. The device is fastened at one end of the wire rope and has a connecting element arranged at the front on the end of the wire rope. The assembly unit has a sleeve that engages around an outer surface of an end section of the wire rope. The sleeve is made of a material of lesser rigidity than strands of the wire rope and, optionally, than the connecting element. The sleeve is pressed, hammered and/or rolled onto the wire rope and, optionally, onto the connecting element to produce a form-locked connection. Outer strands of the wire rope are separated from the wire rope in a rope section, in which the wire rope is arranged inside the sleeve, and the sleeve is connected to ends of the outer strands at its one edge.
