摘要: A hinge assembly for a rupture disk is disclosed. More particularly, a hinge assembly is disclosed having a first hinge member with a flange body and a collapsible hinge, and a second hinge member with a platform hinge, wherein the collapsible hinge is configured to be positioned between the platform hinge and a rupture disk. A rupture disk hinge is also disclosed, having a flange body and a collapsible hinge extending from the flange body. The collapsible hinge may have an approach extending from the flange body, a platform extending from the approach, and a lip extending from the platform. A rupture disk hinge also is disclosed having a hinge extension that extends along a diameter of a flange body across a central fluid flow path.

摘要: A valve for a fire extinguishing system includes a housing, a flow control apparatus, an actuator apparatus, and a manual override apparatus. The flow control apparatus is disposed in a cavity to prevent or permit flow of the fire extinguishing agent from an ingress aperture to an egress aperture of the housing. The flow control apparatus includes a burst disk clamped between the first and second annular faces and an annular spool axially movable along the longitudinal axis relative to the housing. The actuator apparatus includes a bearing sleeve angularly movable around a longitudinal axis relative to the housing and a latch element operably coupling the bearing sleeve and the annular spool. The manual override apparatus includes a cam operably coupled to the bearing sleeve.

摘要: A one-time-use pressure-actuated conduit closure is provided, to selectively withstand fluid pressure from one side of the device until the closure is removed remotely, the closure device being a frangible dome designed to withstand fluid pressures from one side but to rupture upon application of higher pressure on its other side, which provides a mechanism to isolate downhole fluid under (high) pressures in part of a well during operations for a period of time selected by an operator, and then to remove the isolation by breaking the rupture dome remotely by application of extra fluid pressure or other forces from surface. The frangible dome has features in at least one surface to guide and control its breakage to provide controlled shard sizes and shapes and a predictable opening for minimal obstruction of the conduit when broken away.

The pressure control system includes a base plate, a pressure relief valve, a rupture disc, a first connector and a second connector. The base plate includes a tank side and a valve side. The pressure relief valve includes a body and a connection portion for coupling the pressure relief valve to the base plate adjacent the valve side. The rupture disc is positioned between the pressure relief valve and the base plate. The first connector extends between the base plate and the pressure relief valve to secure the pressure relief valve to the base plate and secure the rupture disc. The second connector is positioned for securing the base plate to the tank.

摘要: The present invention is directed to pressure relief devices and to corresponding pressure relief assemblies that have improved vacuum resistance, improved fragmentation resistance, and/or improved burst control while maintaining low mass. The pressure relief device includes a substantially flat flange section and a domed section. The domed section may include a transitional line that defines a change in the shape of the domed section. The pressure relief device may also include a bracket for securing or aligning a domed section to a flange section. The pressure relief device may further include a stress distribution feature that is disposed transversely to a line of weakness in the domed section. The pressure relief assembly may include a fastener having a wire that is configured to break and release the pressure relief device when subject to a predetermined tensile load.

摘要: A reverse acting rupture disc is provided having a laser defined electropolished line-of-weakness recess, and an improved method of forming an electropolished line-of-weakness recess in a reverse acting rupture disc that assures full opening of the disc upon reversal. A rupture disc blank is pre-bulged, final bulged, and then provided with a layer of resist material. A laser is used to remove at least a portion of the layer of resist material corresponding to a desired line-of-weakness recess in the concave face of the bulged rupture disc. The disc is then subjected to an electropolishing operation to remove metal from the lased area of the rupture disc, thereby forming a lustrous polished line-of-weakness recess in the disc of desired configuration and of a predetermined depth that is related to material thickness. The electropolished line of weakness is defined by spaced opposed channel portions separated by a central raised crown portion wherein the channel portions are of greater depth than the crown portion. The burst/reversal pressure of the disc having an electropolished line-of-weakness recess may be selectively controlled by varying the pre-bulging pressure on the disc.

摘要: Non-fragmenting pressure relief apparatus includes at least one circular rupture disc having a central asymmetric bulged section and a peripheral flange portion. A semi-circular line of weakness extends around the periphery of the bulged section and presents a hinge portion between the ends of the line of weakness. A hold-down member for the rupture disc having an inner opening surrounding the bulged section of the disc is provided with a unitary segment that extends into the inner opening of the hold-down member. The spaced end extremities of the line of weakness extend beneath the hold-down member segment. The hinge portion of the disc upon rupture of the disc bends about a fulcrum defined by the outer margin of the hold-down segment, which in conjunction with deflection of the segment of the hold-down member contributes to anti-fragmentation of the disc.
