    摘要: The invention relates to the method and apparatus for producing a cured elastomeric hose having an internal socket or other internal configuration formed therein. The invention also relates to the product produced according to the method and the apparatus. Cured elastomeric hose can be formed having an internal socket by mounting the hose on a mandrel assembly having the desired internal configuration formed therein. An end forming cap assembly is selectively mounted on the hose and mandrel assembly, tightly engages the hose and forces the hose to assume the shape of the mandrel assembly. The hose is cured and then the end forming cap is removed from the hose through the use of an air removal tool. The product produced according to this invention is suitable to receive a wide variety of articles such as an anti-splashback valve or a molded thermoplastic connector.

    摘要: A hose connecting assembly comprises a connecting tube 1 made of a resin, flexible hoses 21, 22 and 23 each having a reinforced layer which is braided with reinforcing threads, into which the connecting tube 1 is inserted, and a resin cover 3 which covers coupling portions between the hoses and the connecting tube integrally therewith. The cover 3 is formed by molding and includes a reinforcing filler and has a post-shrinkage factor of 0.2 to 0.9%. The hoses have inner diameters which have been increased 10 to 30% by the insertion of the connecting tube 1 thereto. Stress cracks are prevented from occurring and high sealing pressure is provided.

    摘要: A strong joint for hoses for the cooling and crankcase ventilation systems of vehicles is made between a hose 1 and a branch by inserting the flared end 3 of a rigid cylindrical insert 4 into a hole 9 in the hose 1 to distort the margin around the hole. A second hose 6 is then positioned over the insert 4 so that its end abuts the margin of the hole and the joint is sealed and secured by an encapsulation which is vulcanized in situ.A curable polymeric liner 5 may be sandwiched between the insert 4 and the spout 6 and also vulcanized to act as a bond.The second hose may be omitted, leaving the insert as a projection to which a second hose may be fitted by other means.

    摘要: A high strength T-joint for inflatable tubular is formed by forming a butt joint between the end of a first two tubular member and the side wall of a second tubular member. The opening in the side wall of the second tubular member is sized to match the end of the transverse support member so that a sealing flange can be applied to the inner surface of the joint to provide an airtight seal. A reinforcing flange comprising a disk-shaped piece of fabric having a center opening, is then bonded over the opening in the second tubular member. The center opening in the reinforcing flange is substantially smaller than the opening in the side rail member. Therefore the reinforcing flange substantially reduces the size of the discontinuity in the side wall of side rail member, thereby substantially increasing the circumferential (nullhoopnull) load capacity of the side wall of the side rail member and substantially increasing the rupture pressure of the joint.

    摘要: A frangible region is provided around at least one end of the outer connector part or cover of a hose and connector assembly, whereby a significant portion of such outer cover can be easily removed from the frangible connection to its end. This frees the end of the underlying hose to be removed from the inner connector part, a new hose part engaged over the exposed portion of the inner connector part, and a conventional clamp used to secure the new hose piece in place on the inner connector part. The outer jacket can be comprised of a plurality of bands, each band molded in place around a hose end, instead of a single piece outer jacket. The frangible region is created in the original molding process, and can, if desired, be formed on more than one of the ends of the outer molded connector part or the bands. The economics and durability of the original branched molded hose connection are still achieved, but the resulting connection can be repaired in the field, for example in site in the case of hoses used in automotive applications or hydraulic circuits using flexible hose. The frangible region is designed so as to direct and confine a breaking force applied to the outer connector part when it is desired to replace a hose piece.
