    摘要: The invention includes methods and apparatus for demolding a tread from a mold. In particular embodiments, such methods include a step of demolding a first end of a tread from a mold to form a demolded portion of the tread, the tread extending lengthwise from the first end to a second end. A further step includes folding the tread such that at least a portion of the demolded portion is arranged overtop a portion of the tread remaining within the mold. Yet a further step includes applying lubricant to the tread to thereby lubricate relative translation between folded portions of the tread. A further step includes demolding additional portions of the tread by sliding at least a portion of the demolded portion along the portion of the tread remaining in the mold with the lubricant arranged between the demolded portion and the portion of the tread remaining within the mold.

    摘要: A system for removing a cured composite object from a mandrel is provided. The system includes a collapsible shell, wherein an inner surface of the shell is configured to slide over an outer surface of the mandrel and an outer surface of the shell is configured to have the composite object formed thereon. The system further includes an extractor comprising a first and second disk disposed along a rod, and an adjuster, wherein the second disk is configured to engage an end of the mandrel and the adjuster is configured to move the first disk along the rod relative to the second disk. The system further includes a spacer configured to fit between the first disk and a first end of the shell when the shell is placed on the mandrel. The spacer pushes the shell and the composite object formed thereon off of the mandrel when the adjuster moves the first disk towards the second disk.

    摘要: A process for the manufacture of a thin-walled tube of fluorinated resin, particularly polytetrafluoroethylene, in which a ribbon of fluorinated resin obtained by lubricated extrusion and calendaring, is wound into a tube on a mandrel, the winding of the ribbon being performed in a plurality of layers, and the thus-wound ribbon on the mandrel being brought to a temperature above the sintering temperature of the fluorinated resin for sufficient time to produce sintering. The wound tube and the mandrel are cooled; while on the mandrel the thin-walled tube is rolled to elongate the tube, to reduce the thickness of the tube, and to increase the inside diameter of the tube; and then the mandrel within the tube is extracted.

    摘要: A machine for automatically stripping thin, flexible molded products from their molds on a continuously moving conveyor comprises, in essence, a movable array of arm pairs for clamping onto the molds, each arm having a pair of fingers for clamping onto a cuff or bead at the bottom of the molded product. The array of arms is attached to a movable carriage on a track parallel to the conveyor. A pneumatically actuated piston rod raises and lowers the array. Mechanical drive means are provided for engaging the carriage when the arm pairs are centered over the molds and for driving it at the same speed at the conveyor. As the carriage moves, it activates a series of switches which lower the array, clamp the arms onto the molds, clamp the fingers onto the beads, spread the arms again, and raise the array. A shuttle platform is driven under the raised array, and the stripped products are released. The carriage and the shuttle are then returned to their initial positions for a repetition of the cycle.
