    摘要: A flashlight having a LED directly mounted to a top surface of a heat sink without the use of a printed circuit board and two mechanical spiral engagement systems, one in the housing, the other in a head assembly, such that the LED is turned on when power from an electrical circuit is applied to the heatsink which is thermally connected to a first electrically conductive member of the LED and a second electrically conductive member of the LED which is insulated within the heatsink from the heatsink, and the light provided by the LED may be varied by rotating the head assembly relative to the housing while the heat sink, the switch assembly and the power source remain stationary.

    摘要: An apparatus for producing a high intensity beam of light with high efficiency of conversion of electrical power into light intensity includes an arc lamp, a reflector, a screw drive mechanism coupled between the arc lamp and reflector for positioning the arc lamp relative to the reflector to provide zoom control of the beam of light, and a spring for biasing the screw drive mechanism into a stable configuration to eliminate backlash and instability of the positioning the arc lamp relative to the reflector to provide zoom control of the beam of light. A handheld light includes an IR filter selectively disposable over the aperture of the light so that only infrared light and a circumferential light curtain is interposed between the IR filter and the body so that no there are no light leaks even the IR filter and the body are prevented from fitting closely due to interposed debris.

    摘要: Improved lighting devices and methods are provided. In many embodiments, the devices and methods provide the capability to change a spot of light projected onto a target surface. In other embodiments, the devices and methods are fixed-focus. In one embodiment a lens can have a lens body with anterior and posterior surfaces. The anterior surface can be adapted to receive light from a light source. The posterior surface can have a central portion and a peripheral portion. Some of the light from the light source can pass through the lens body and exit the central portion of the posterior surface via refraction. Some of the light from the light source can pass through the lens body and exit the peripheral portion of the posterior surface via both refraction and reflection at various surfaces of the lens.
