    摘要: The present invention is directed to a solar heat collecting assembly including a metallic container defining a solar heat collecting space therein. A pair of spaced screen assemblies extend through the heat collecting space and a metallic tube is arranged between the screen assemblies for providing a liquid passageway through said container. A layer of highly reflective material borders the heat collecting space and reflects low micron heat waves toward the screen assemblies and tube to increase the effective heat transfer capability of the container.

    摘要: A solar heat collector having a collector element made from interconnected tubular members, each of which is provided with a transverse baffle, the baffles have openings forming spillways over which heat exchanging liquid passes. The collector element is preferably made from a plurality of tandem arranged sheet metal soft drink or beer cans, the ends of certain cans being removed before the cans are assembled. One or a plurality of collector elements are disposed along an incline such as a roof and a pump feeds liquid to the upper end or ends of the inclined collector element or elements to cascade down through each element and be heated by heat absorbed into the metal from the sun's rays. The heated liquid is then fed through a pipe or pipes from the lower end of each collector.

    摘要: A multi-purpose solar energy collector is disclosed. The collector is a flat plate type of collector that is designed to heat either air or water, or both, and is portable so that it can readily be moved from one place to another. In the air heating mode, the collector is ideally suited for drying grain. After the grain drying season, the collector can be converted to the liquid heating mode to heat agricultural process water or domestic water, for example. In the combined air-liquid heating mode, the collector can be used to provide both heated air and heated liquid.

    摘要: A solar heating system for a structure in which a matrix of beverage containers of the convenient opening variety is mounted on a generally flat support member. The beverage containers extend through holes in the support member formed from alternating polygons of a generally checkerboard surface design. A resilient plug seals the opening at one end of each container and a pair of collector tubes extend through the plug into the interior of each container. The collector tubes of adjacent containers are connected together such that all containers are connected in a series relationship. Those surface areas of the support member not occupied by the containers are contoured and have an outer surface appropriate to reflect heat and light toward the containers which themselves have a coating of a heat and light conductive substance. Fluid is pumped from a reservoir and through the containers under sunny conditions or may be diverted from the matrix during cloudy conditions or at night. In the latter events, an insulated canopy may be extended to cover the matrix. The amount of heat taken from the system to heat the structure may also be appropriately controlled.

    摘要: A solar heating system comprising a collector panel with a plurality of beverage cans or the like received in holes drilled therethrough. The surfaces of the panel and the cans protruding from the front of the panel are painted with a dark, heat-absorbing paint and the circular tops of the cans, which are exposed through the other side of the panel, are left uncoated to radiate heat directly into a heat storage medium, such as a pile of rocks on the other side. A heating duct exits from the top of the heat storage chamber to the area to be heated and the return duct enters at the same level. Circulation of air through the heating duct is mechanically induced.
