    摘要: A suntracking system for a central receiver solar power plant includes a heliostat field for reflecting sunlight to a receiver, cameras directed toward at least a subset of the heliostats, and a controller. The cameras are configured to produce images of sunlight reflected from multiple heliostats. The heliostats include a mirrored surface having a settable orientation and have a geometry modeled by a set of parameters. A method of estimating heliostat parameters for open-loop suntracking includes acquiring pointing samples by setting the direction of reflection of the heliostats and detecting concurrent sunlight reflections into the cameras. The method uses the acquired pointing samples and surveyed locations of the cameras to estimate the heliostat parameters. The method accurately maintains the sun's reflection directed toward the receiver open-loop utilizing the estimated tracking parameters.

    摘要: The subject of the invention is modular system for utilization of solar energy for heating of sanitary water, which is composed from individual modules, each of which comprises a prefabricated, upper-outflow transparent (diaphanous), translucent or non-transparent element (1), one or several intermediate transparent (diaphanous), translucent or non-transparent element(s) (2), and a lower-inflow transparent (diaphanous), translucent or non-transparent element (3). Their mutual connection by means of junctions (4a, 4b) enables flow of nontransparent media from one element to the other while absorbing solar energy. Several modules can be mutually and in parallel connected to the modular system replacing the existing roofing tiles. The choice of an appropriate color for the nontransparent media makes the system compatible and consistent with the look of surrounding existing roof tiles.

    摘要: A solar energy collector comprising a plurality of heat absorbing modules formed by deforming two plates into intimate contact with parallel metallic pipes disposed intermediate the plates. The plates are secured together by rivets which are spaced along and traverse the deformed portions of the plates, thus providing a spring section to absorb unequal expansion of the plates and the fluid conducting pipes. The uppermost surface of the pair of plates is provided with a black body coating to emit infrared radiation when sunlight is incident thereon. A glazing is provided over such black body surface to freely transmit incident light to the black body surface but to reflect infrared heat energy emitted by the black body surface. Water or other heat transfer liquid flowing through the pipes is maintained at a sufficiently high pressure to produce a turbulent flow through the pipes to increase the efficiency of the heat transfer. Any size unit can be fabricated by assembling the modules in side by side and/or end to end relationship. Preferably, the collector encompasses horizontally parallel pipes with the inlet and outlet of the collector being on the same side.

    摘要: A solar heat exchange system is fabricated from a manifold and a plurality of elastomeric tubular elements which are longitudinally connected into a mat. A one-piece molded plastic manifold having at least six parallel aligned radially extending nipples is mounted on a cylindrical tubular header. The spacing of the nipples is designed to correspond to the spacing of the tubular elements in the mat. The unit is assembled by applying liquid adhesive to the exterior of the nipples, and sliding the tubular elements of the mat simultaneously over the nipples while the adhesive is still fluid, and allowing the adhesive to set.

    摘要: The outlet of the collectors is connected to the inlet thereof by means of a line in which are mounted the primary part of a heat exchanger condenser, a vacuum pump, a venting cylinder, and a flow-control device. A distributing device feeds water with a pressure drop and a small flow rate from the line into each collector. The flow rate is such that water in liquid form does not fill completely the collectors and vaporizes at least for the most part before leaving the collectors. The heat exchanger comprises a secondary part which is part of a hot water line which runs in closed circuit and wherein are mounted a circulating pump and a storage tank.

    摘要: The specification discloses a solar energy collector having a manifold with a manifold supply tube and a manifold return tube disposed therein. Fluid is supplied to the apparatus through the manifold supply tube and is received from the apparatus through the manifold return tube. A plurality of spaced apart riser U-tubes extend away and upwardly from the manifold with one end of the U-tube being in fluid communication with the manifold supply tube and the other end of the U-tube being in fluid communication with the manifold return tube. Dimples are formed in spaced apart positions along the supply tube and an orifice is formed in the center of the dimple. The U-tube is connected to the supply tube at the dimple, covering the orifice so that the orifice meters the fluid flow to the U-tube. A solar energy absorber tube encompasses each of the U-tubes.

    摘要: A durable, low-cost, heat transfer panel of the type typically employed as a solar energy collector is disclosed. The panel includes a flow channel defining structure, preferably formed as a corrugated sheet and a superimposed flexible membrane, to which manifolds or headers are secured. The manifolds have mating corrugated surfaces that are interengaged with the corrugations on the panel sheet to provide transverse rigidity to the overall panel structure as well as distribution of heat transfer fluid to and from the panel. Modified forms of the panel are disclosed in which the panel includes a selective absorber and a venting structure. A method for blow-molding the manifold into mating interengagement with the corrugated support sheet of the panel is also disclosed.

    摘要: A solar heating panel unit is provided in the form of a plastic pouch having an internal chamber provided with a serpentine path. The pouch has two sides, one of which consists of a layer of anti-abrasive matte black plastic and a sealant inner layer of black medium density polyethylene film. The other side incorporates a reflective layer of aluminum foil. The pouch has inlets and outlets, whereat hardware fixtures are employed, consisting of threadably engaged parts having flanges between which is clamped a wall of the pouch. The pouch, or a plurality of such pouches, may be incorporated into systems wherein a cold water source is connected selectively through the pouch to a tank or through a boiler, whereof the boiler or the tank supplies a construction requiring heated water. Alternatively, the system may be such that the tank is excluded.
