The tap hole drilling unit has a drilling rod guiding device for a drilling rod, which is driven by a drilling mechanism, on a receptacle configured to have the drilling mechanism disposed thereon. The oxygen lance feeding device is disposed in an operating position in a space formed between the drilling rod guiding device and the drilling mechanism in such a manner that the drilling rod guiding device serves to form an oxygen lance guiding axis.

    摘要: According to the present invention, a drill rod (10) comprises an elongate hollow shaft (12) with a first shaft end and a second shaft end (22), the first shaft end having a first connector for connecting the drill rod (10) to a drive mechanism, the second shaft end (22) having a first female tread (24); and an adapter (30) with a first adapter end (32) and a second adapter end (34), the first adapter end (32) having a first male thread (42) cooperating with the first female tread (24) of the second shaft end (22), the second adapter end (34) having a second connector for connecting a drill bit (46) thereto. When a drill bit (46) is connected to the drill rod (10), the adapter (30) is sandwiched between the hollow shaft (12) and the drill bit (46). The above configuration of drill rod allows a great variety of drill bits to be used in conjunction with a single hollow shaft. There is hence no need to provide a different hollow shaft if a different drill bit is to be used. Manufacturing costs of drill rods do hence not have to be considerably-increased if a variety of drill bits are to be used.

    摘要: An improved thermal lance is made of a low carbon steel sheath having an internal bore and a thin cylindrical rod that is roll-formed from low carbon steel sheet. The rod being sized for conforming fit in the bore of the tube and has a length dimension that is longer than the length of the tube. The rod is inserted into the bore of the tube and allowed to move axially within the tube under propulsion of the pressurized oxygen to allow the rod to be burned at a rate independent of the burn rate of the sheath. One or more apertures in the tube restrict the flow of oxygen until the rod is ignited. An O ring located near the fuse protector of the lance housing keeps the lance from moving during routine handling and storage.

    摘要: A piercing apparatus compact in size having a decreased number of hoses is suited for use as an iron runner port-opening machine for a blast furnace or the like furnace in an iron mill. The piercing apparatus executes the piercing by moving back and forth, by using a feed unit, a drifter equipped with a forward-blowing unit, a reverse-blowing unit and a rotary unit, and wherein cylinders containing a cylindrical blowing piston are provided in front of, and at the back of, a drifter body maintaining a distance relative to each other; a shank rod having, formed as a unitary structure, a blowing portion of a large diameter with blowing surfaces formed on the front and rear portions thereof and rod-like small-diameter portions protruding forward and backward beyond the blowing portion, is provided along the axial direction of the drifter body in a manner that the blowing portion is positioned between the front cylinder and rear cylinder and that the small-diameter portions on both sides are fitted to the cylindrical blowing pistons of the respective sides; and valves are provided in the outer peripheral portions of the front and rear cylinders to supply hydraulic pressure into the cylinders.

    摘要: A method for shutting down and starting up a chemical recovery process of the type comprising burning concentrated black liquor in the furnace of a recovery boiler to produce a flue gas and a hot molten smelt in the bottom of said furnace and discharging the hot molten smelt in a continuous yet variable quantity via a smelt spout into a dissolving tank partially filled with an aqueous solution, said method comprising:inserting an elongated heating element into said spout;shutting down said boiler with said element in said spout such that on solidification of molten smelt in said spout said element is fixed in said solidified smelt; andstarting up said boiler by heating said element to a temperature equal to or greater than the melting point of said smelt to form molten smelt and removing said element from said spout to provide a substantially open spout for discharge of said molten smelt from said furnace.

The cleaning head is mounted on one end of a substantially horizontal beam, the opposite end of which is supported in cantilever fashion to a support base which is selectably movable. The support base includes means for longitudinally translating the beam and causing the cleaning head to move in a linear path along the length of the smelt spout.
