摘要： A heat storage and transfer system that incorporates a primary heat storage chamber or body that is thermally insulated and which in use contains a heat storing liquid or solid; and a secondary chamber external to and adjacent the primary heat storage chamber or body through which a liquid, heat transfer fluid or steam to be heated is passed in use, the system having a heat transfer mechanism to selectively transfer thermal energy from the heat storing liquid or solid of the primary heating chamber or body to the liquid or steam to be heated in the secondary chamber. The heat transfer mechanism has a drive that moves the secondary chamber from a first position that is thermally separated from the primary chamber into a second position that is substantially inserted in a void or recess within the primary chamber or body.

摘要： A regenerative energy and/or mass exchange assembly having an exchange media, a central housing, a first end housing with fluid stream diverting chambers to provide a fluid flow passage from a first inlet of the first end housing to the exchange media, and provide a fluid flow passage from the exchange media to a first outlet of the first end housing, a second end housing having fluid stream diverting chambers to provide a fluid flow passage from a second inlet of the second end housing to the exchange media, and provide a fluid flow passage from the exchange media to a second outlet of the second end housing. The first and second end housings have a skirt portion extending generally parallel to a central axis of the end housings. The exchange media is rotated by a motor via a shaft, and the shaft is fastened to a recess in a side surface of the exchange media by a drive transfer means.

摘要： A rotary regenerative air preheater has pinrack seals including a U-seal located between the upper and lower pinrack rails and a trough-shaped filler-seal located between the upper and lower pinrack supports of adjacent pinrack assemblies. The inboard edges of the wing portions of the filler seal are welded to the rotor shell, the outboard edge of each leg portion of the U-seal engages a pin in one of the adjacent pinrack assemblies, and the upper and lower edges of the U-seal and the filler-seal engage the upper and lower pinrack rails and the upper and lower pinrack supports, respectively, to seal the pinrack assemblies to the rotor shell.

摘要： A jacking device for a horizontal rotor shaft that supports the rotor of a rotary regenerative air preheater. Inasmuch as the rotor of a rotary regenerative air preheater comprises an extremely heavy mass of heat absorbent material that is completely surrounded by a housing and support structure, it is difficult to find suitable access to the rotor whereby it may be jacked within the housing. According to this invention the jacking device is incorporated within the rotor support structure whereby it is continuously available at all times and located at the optimum position for maximum effectiveness.
