    摘要： In an embodiment, a hybrid slat armor configured for protecting a body against a threat having an anticipated impact direction. The hybrid slat armor comprises a plurality of slat units, each extending along a first longitudinal direction, the units being spaced apart along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. Each slat unit has a strike end configured for facing the anticipated impact direction, a rear end opposite the strike end, a top set of piercing elements and a bottom set of piercing elements. The piercing elements of each set are successively arranged along the longitudinal direction of the slat unit at the strike end thereof and are spaced apart in the longitudinal direction; The piecing elements of the top set are spaced from the piercing elements of the bottom set in the second longitudinal direction to a distance which is considerably smaller than that between adjacent slat-units.

    摘要： A deployable and foldable shield with improved stability, when it is to protect the carrier against weapons and thrown objects, comprising an elongated base plate having attachment means for attaching the base plate along the forearm of a person, and a plurality of substantially triangular and at least substantially equal-sided shield plates, supported by the base plate, which have a top angle (α) smaller than 40° and are pivotally mounted at a triangle corner enclosing the top angle (α) to a pivot projecting from the base plate, said shield plates forming a stack supported by the base plate when the shield is folded and forming a deployed shield surface supported by the base plate when pivoted away from the base plate. In order to improve the stability of the shield, when it is to protect the carrier against weapons and thrown objects, the shield plates are arranged in two stacks with a respective pivot for mounting and pivoting of the shield plates. The shield plates in one stack are deployed by pivoting in a first direction and those in the other stack by pivoting in the opposite direction, and connecting devices are provided for connecting these two shield plates.

    摘要： An armor appliqué system for supplementing the integrated armor of an amphibious vehicle without increasing the effective weight of the vehicle in water. A plurality of armored modules individually are affixed to the hull of an amphibious vehicle, each module having an armor element and a buoyant element sized to offset at least the weight of the armor element when the module is submerged in water. The modules can be arranged to align with the armor elements of neighboring modules and create a nearly continuous armor layer over a layer of buoyant elements and the hull. The modules can be provided in a plurality of different shapes and sizes such that the armor layer can be customized approximate to shape and size of the portion of the hull to prove protected.
