摘要： A cartridge case for centerfire ammunition may include a rotationally shaped casing sleeve for receiving a projectile as well as propellant charge powder, and a separate rotationally shaped bottom piece which is attached to the casing sleeve and has a closed ignition surface to be faced towards a firing pin for ignition of the centerfire ammunition. The closed ignition surface delimits, on the firing pin side, a receiving chamber for an ignition charge. The casing sleeve may have or support an anvil extending in the direction of the ignition surface into the receiving chamber. The ammunition may have a caliber in the range from, for example, 4.6 to 12.7.

摘要： The present invention provides a method of making a metal injection molded ammunition cartridge comprising the steps of: providing an ammunition cartridge mold comprising a bottom portion having a primer recess extending into the bottom portion adapted to receive a primer, a flash hole positioned in the primer recess through the bottom surface; side walls extending from the bottom portion to a nose end aperture, wherein a propellant chamber is formed between the nose end aperture and the bottom surface; injecting a metal composition into the ammunition cartridge mold to form a metal injection molded ammunition cartridge; and removing the metal injection molded ammunition cartridge from the ammunition cartridge mold.

摘要： A cartridge for ammunition has a base with an axial end section. An annular wall extends from the enlarged outer peripheral lip section to an opposite end. The axial end section has a primer cavity therein and a radially outwardly extending peripheral extraction lip. An annular ledge is axially positioned at an inner end of said primer cavity and radially extends inwardly from said annular wall. A passage has a reduced diameter compared to the primer cavity and extends through the annular ledge. A main charge cavity is at an opposite side of the ledge from the primer cavity. A knurl section is on an outer surface of said cylindrical wall. A cartridge case is attached to the base about said knurl section.

摘要： A rifle or handgun cartridge is formed to have an overall length of about 2.260 inches, or 57.4 millimeters. The shell case has a case length between 1.550 inches and 1.620 inches and a neck forming a mouth for a variety of caliber bullets, preferably a standard .224 caliber bullet, or a 9.0 mm bullet. In the alternative, the bullet is a caliber .308 and the case length is 1.550. The shoulder adjoining the neck widens from the neck to a diameter of between 0.400 inches to 0.415 inches, and preferably 0.4059 inches. The base has a diameter of 0.426 to 0.430 inches (10.82-10.92 mm), and preferably 0.427 inches. The adjoining shell body forms the main powder chamber for receiving an explosive charge. A head adjoins the shell body and forms a base of the shell case. The head has a primer pocket formed therein communicating with the main powder chamber through a vent hole formed between the primer pocket and the main powder chamber.

The cup includes a first annular cup portion extending in a first direction from a web formed therein and a second annular cup portion extending in a second direction from the web opposite to the first direction. The plug having a first annular portion that completely encompasses an outer circumferential surface of the cup and a second annular portion that extends from the first annular portion. The second annular portion of the plug completely covering an inner surface of the first annular cup portion of the cup. The cup preferably being formed from a metal or a suitable non-metal and the plug being formed from a suitable polymer that is injection molded over the cup.

The cartridge case also includes resilient walls wherein the case may snap fit onto the bullet. The bullet and cartridge case may be formed in a single step process by injection molding or a two step process including injection molding and a welding process.
