    摘要: A multiple projectile cartridge for a muzzle loading firearm which comprises a plurality of projectiles, a plastic cup sized to fit into a bore of the muzzle loading firearm containing the projectiles and a top wad inserted into and retained in the open end of the cup by a retaining means in the tubular portion of the cup. The tubular portion of the cup includes several spaced longitudinal slots extending from the open end toward the base of the cup defining petals therebetween. The retaining means preferably includes a radial peripheral groove adjacent the open end of each of the petals of the tubular portion of the cup. The periphery of the top wad engages this groove to retain the top wad in place and in turn retain the shot load in the shot cup when the cartridge is inserted into the bore of the muzzle loading firearm.

    摘要: A duct cover for use with a duct within a vehicle, the duct cover operative for directing a fluid flow. The duct cover being further operative for minimizing the entrance of foreign object debris into the duct. The duct cover has a flow directing honeycomb portion for conducting the passing fluid flow in a preferred direction. The flow directing honeycomb comprises an array of continuous, polygon shaped open cells which are biased with respect to the initial fluid flow direction. The periphery of the flow directing honeycomb is rigidized to stiffen the same for minimizing the displacements thereof. The rigidity is provided by a framing member comprising upper and lower skin structures affixed to a core material. The framing member is preferably adhesively bonded to the flow directing honeycomb by means of a foaming adhesive and a barrier member. The barrier member is operative for minimizing the expansion of the foaming adhesive into the open cells of the honeycomb. In order to improve the low observability characteristics of the structure, the cells of the flow directing honeycomb are preferably coated with a radar absorbent material, such as carbon, which acts to minimize the amount of electromagnetic energy that is reflected therefrom.

    摘要: An aircraft gas turbine engine is provided with low observable fan features which reduce the radar signature of the engine and its aircraft. An aircraft gas turbine engine fan section has in direct serial flow relationship an inlet having fixed high swirl angle inlet guide vanes, a first stage of first fan rotor blades, a stage of first variable angle stator vanes, and a fan bleed. The inlet guide vanes are angled to block the linear line of sight of the rotating fan blades through the inlet and include a RAM treatment which preferably is a coating of a radar absorbing material on the surface of the inlet guide vanes. The exemplary embodiment has a multi-stage fan section with the mid-stage fan bleed disposed between the first and second stages of fan rotor blades.

The device includes a propellant providing a force to push the projectile down the bore of the firearm, a fibrous cup, a dense material within the fibrous cup, and a frame including a bore forward disk configured to press against a bottom surface of the fibrous cup. The dense material includes one of a dense granulated material and a dense, viscous paste. The dense material is configured to deform and press radially outwardly against the cup as the propellant provides propelling force to the dense material.
