摘要： The multiple shot spear gun includes a central rotary shaft having a plurality of relatively stationary spear launching tubes or barrels distributed therearound in a cylindrical pattern. The number of spear launching tubes or barrels is not limited, but may comprise any practicable number. Rotation of the central shaft causes a disc to rotate. The disc has a ramp or tang thereon that sequentially engages the trigger of each of the spear launchers as the disc is rotated. A safety disc is rotated with rotation of the central shaft. The safety disc includes a plurality of holes therein. A spring-loaded catch engages one of the holes as the disc rotates with rotation of the central shaft. Thus, the operator of the multiple shot spear gun must release the safety catch after each shot to rotate the central shaft further for the next shot.

摘要： A spear assembly for an underwater spear gun has an elongate shaft adapted to be fired from a spear gun and has a long axis, a forward portion, and a rearward portion. A tip member includes having front and rear portions with the tip member being removably attached to the forward portion of the shaft. An elongated flexible cable has a forward end attached to the tip member and a rearward portion attached to rearward portion of the shaft. A barb including a barb body is attached to the tip member adjacent the rear portion thereof and the barb has a rearwardly directed barb point. A rear cable restraint is used for impeding movement of the cable and the tip member until the spear is fired from a spear gun. Another restraint means is also used for releasably securing the forward end of the cable to the tip member at a medial portion thereof.

摘要： A method of firing an automatic weapon in an underwater environment is diosed. The automatic weapon includes a barrel having a muzzle end and a chamber within the barrel. The method includes the steps of loading a blank round of ammunition into the chamber, first detonating the blank round of ammunition, creating gas and steam within the chamber as a result of detonating the blank round of ammunition, commingling expanded gas and steam to form a bubble at the muzzle end of the barrel, thereby displacing water from the chamber of the barrel and forming a dry environment throughout the chamber of the barrel, loading at least one live round of ammunition into the chamber, and detonating and firing the at least one live round of ammunition from within the dry environment prior to dissipation of the bubble.

摘要： A repeating spear gun for firing self-propelled spears, the spear gun having a magazine comprising a plurality of spear firing chambers disposed as radial sets of firing chambers, and a bolt having a plurality of firing pins, each firing pin aligned with a firing chamber in the firing path of the bolt. The firing pins are staggered to provide varying firing pin distances to the respective firing chambers positioned in the firing path of the bolt. The firing pins are thereby caused to arrive at the respective firing chambers at different times, and if a spear occupies the firing chamber nearest the bolt, the spear is launched and the exhaust gas therefrom brakes the bolt to prevent firing of a spear contained in another firing chamber. If the firing chamber nearest the bolt is unoccupied, another firing pin will ignitingly impact a spear disposed in another firing chamber of the radial set.
