    摘要: A signaling device to be launched underwater having a fuze body, a time dy element, an ejection charge and at least one carrier having a pyrotechnic composition attached to a parachute. The ejection charge is ignited by an electric squib which is detonated by voltage from a sea water battery. The battery is sealed from sea water until a valve opens to permit entry of water into the fuze body. An electronic deplay module is electrically connected between the sea water battery and squib to delay detonation of the ejection charge until the signaling device has assumed a stable vertical position at the water surface.

    摘要: A Power head for a fishing spear comprising a chamber to house an explosive cartridge open at one end, and a firing mechanism detachably secured to the other end of the chamber, said mechanism comprising a cylinder having two pistons slidably mounted therein and spaced apart, said first piston being connected to a piston rod projecting from the end of the cylinder remote from the chamber and said second piston being fitted with a firing pin adapted to act on a cartridge in the chamber, said cylinder being provided with a plurality of spaced ports through which water can enter and fill the space in the cylinder between the pistons, the first ports being adapted to be closed as the first piston moves along the cylinder towards the chamber and the second ports being adapted to be closed as the second piston moves in the same direction, the movement of the second piston being effected through water trapped in the cylinder between the two pistons after the first ports have been closed.

    摘要: A water-armed, air-safe fuze for hand grenades, bombs, mines and torpedoes which permits initiation of the main charge only when the device is underwater. A floodable chamber having flooding holes open to the environment is intermediate an explosively driven piston and a percussion primer. When water fills the floodable chamber, sufficient forces will be transmitted from the driver piston to an intermediate firing pin which will be ejected toward the percussion primer to initiate the main charge in the ordnance. When air fills the chamber, insufficient forces will be transmitted and the device will be safetied.

    摘要: An explosive device contains a water-reactive material that ignites upon exposure to water. The water-reactive material ignites a water-activated fuse that has a predetermined burn rate and length. The predetermined burn rate and length allows the device to sink to a desired depth before exploding. Hence, the device explodes after a desired period of time and/or at a desired depth. Defense against underwater swimmers is an advantageous feature of embodiments of the disclosure. The device can use a forty millimeter (40 mm) form factor, which permits launch of the device from convention grenade launchers.
