Abstract:
An apparatus for facilitating the rapid mounting of fence boards to fence posts includes a rail having a tongue projecting perpendicularly from one end thereof; and a board support assembly slidably disposed on the rail, the board support assembly including a carriage slidably mounted on the rail, a carriage lock for selectively fixing the carriage at a desired location along the rail, and a hook depending from the carriage below the tongue for temporarily supporting one end of a board to be mounted to a post. The subject apparatus may be hung from a first fence board by the tongue and then used to support an end of a second fence board within the cradle a desired distance below, and in substantially coplanar alignment with, the first board for mounting to a post.
Abstract:
A trip hazard measurement gauge is, except for a measurement module and display, constructed primarily of aluminum. A cylindrical tube has an upper straight section and a lower straight section that are interconnected by a curved section. The upper straight section and the lower straight section form an obtuse angle. A cylindrical aluminum housing is connected to the tube via a conical connecter piece. A non-movable foot is rigidly connected to the cylindrical housing. A measurement module is installed within the cylindrical housing. A slidable rule, to which a movable foot is attached to a lower end thereof, extends from the measurement module. A return spring ensures that the movable foot returns to its lowermost position. After turning ON the display, selecting the measurement system and zeroing the gauge, it is ready to measure differences in elevation between adjacent sidewalk slabs.
Abstract:
There is provided a linear displacement measuring apparatus which notifies a user when being installed defectively. A slider includes a traveling body which travels along a main scale on the main scale, a carriage part mounted on an object, and coupling means which couples the traveling body with the carriage part. The coupling means allows relative displacement between the traveling body and the carriage part and biases the traveling body towards the main scale. The coupling means has a connecting rod arranged so as to couple the traveling body with the carriage part via a ball joint. The slider further has misalignment detecting means which detects that the relative displacement between the traveling body and the carriage part exceeds a prescribed allowable range. The misalignment detecting means is a pair of projecting pieces arranged in a vicinity of the connecting rod so that the displacement of the connecting rod is regulated within a predetermined range.
Abstract:
A system for guiding the installation of construction boards that includes lines marked on the boards and a fixing-point ruler and extensible section.
Abstract:
The cylindrical ruler is an elongated, hollow, cylindrical tube of known diameter having an axial slit extending the length of the tube. Indicia defining a circumferential scale are disposed around one end of the tube for measuring the length of an arc. Indicia defining a ruled scale extend lengthwise down the tube adjacent the slit for measuring length and width. Since the tube has a known diameter, it may be used to measure the inner or outer diameter of a pipe, the outer diameter or radius of curvature of a cylindrical lens, etc. The tube may also be used as a drawing tool to draw arcs, circles, or rectilinear lines on a cylindrical object. Preferably, the cylindrical ruler is furnished as a plurality of cylindrical tubes of progressively increasing diameter that can telescope within each other for storage and transport in a protective case.
Abstract:
A sprinkler drop ruler is provided for measuring the sprinkler drop from a roughed-in outlet. The sprinkler drop ruler includes a rigid frame having an opening, a handle connected to the rigid frame and in fixed relation to the rigid frame, and a ruler with an end shaped to seat in the opening and configured to move inside or along a side of the handle in order to measure a sprinkler drop. The sprinklerfitter may thus use the sprinkler drop ruler in order to measure the sprinkler drop. In this way, the sprinklerfitter does not need to climb a ladder to measure the sprinkler drop.
Abstract:
A measuring device includes a bracket and a sliding ruler. The bracket includes a base and a first side plate. The sliding ruler is slidably attached to the bracket and includes a top wall and a first sidewall. The first side plate includes a first top surface, a first set of scale lines, and first scale values marking the first set of scale lines. The first scale values increase incrementally from the base to a scale value N at the first top surface. A distance between the first top surface and a bottom surface of the base is equal to the scale value N. The first sidewall includes second set of scale lines, and second scale values marking the second set of scale lines. The second scale values decrease incrementally from the base to the scale value N at the top wall.
Abstract:
A superior measuring system comprises three sidewinders and a cobra measure which allows the users to take inside measurement with the assistance for one else. Sidewinders are use to measure distance between 2′ to 23′ and comprise a casing, an upper blade, and a bottom blade. The cobra measure comprises a main body, a single blade and a hood. The sidewinders have three extending blades which extend from the front and the back sides. The both blades can be locked from a locking mechanism so the blades do not move freely. The cobra measure comprises an angle control which control the angle that the single blade so accurate measurements. The single blade in the cobra measure is a curved shaped blade which provides better stability when measurements are taken.
