Abstract:
A system and method for automatically producing product mix and application information include a display for depicting a plurality of indicators arranged on a chart. A sensor is used for sensing one of the indicators positioned within the chart. A processor-based system retrieves from a database the mix and application information based upon the sensed indicator. The retrieved mix and application information is provided for mixing paint components.
Abstract:
Embodiments described herein disclose a color measurement device and method for use with cameras or other imaging devices. The color measurement device may be configured to determine many different colors via a commonly owned device. Embodiments utilize sinusoidal grayscale rings to determine an exact color match of an unknown color, even if there is perspective distortion of an obtained image.
Abstract:
This relates to a processor-implemented method of providing an oil-quality indication. The method includes receiving image data associated with a captured image, wherein the image includes (i) oil sample pixels associated with an oil sample and (ii) calibration color pixels associated with a calibration color. The oil sample pixels are adjusted based on the calibration color pixels. A saturation value and a hue value are determined based on the adjusted oil sample pixels. An oil quality value is determined based on the saturation value and the hue value. The oil quality value is stored in a processor-readable medium.
Abstract:
The color device has a core with hues that gradually change whiteness, respectively. The discs have hues covering an entire color spectrum at a certain level of whiteness. All hues of the first and second discs have the first and second level of whiteness, respectively. The discs extend perpendicularly outwardly from the core. The first disc is axially remote from the second disc so that a distance (d) is formed therebetween. The discs are aligned so that color cells of the first disc axially aligned with color cells of the second disc have identical hues except for different whiteness. The level of color saturation in the color cells is gradually increased radially outwardly from the core.
Abstract:
The method is for identifying and selecting a color or a combination of colors. A color sphere (200) is provided that has a first color pocket (238) defined between a first horizontal disc (202) and a second horizontal disc (208) and vertical inserts (212c, 212b) extending between the first horizontal disc and the second horizontal disc. The first horizontal disc has a plurality of organized first spectrum of color cells and the second horizontal disc has a plurality of organized second spectrum of color cells. The first spectrum is gradually lighter than the second spectrum and gradually more gray from a peripheral surface (209) towards an axial opening (232a) of the first horizontal disc and an axial opening (232b) of the second horizontal discs. A first color cell (236) is identified in a first pocket (238).
Abstract:
A color sphere has a plurality of organized color cells. The color cells are gradually lighter from a bottom to a top. A first color cell is selected from the color sphere. Radial, horizontal peripheral, vertical peripheral directions are identified relative to the first color cell. The color cells of the sphere are organized so that they only match in the radial direction, horizontal peripheral direction and in the vertical peripheral direction. A second color cell is selected only when the second color cell is in selected direction.
Abstract:
A system and method for sorting and selecting colors from a palette of colors are provided. A color identification standard representing the color spectrum is selected. The color identification standard comprises color groups from which color harmonies can be created. The colors are sorted by a first attribute of the color. For each first attribute level, the colors are further sorted to correspond to the color groups in the selected color identification standard. Each color is further sorted within its color group into a gradient of colors based on the amount of color from adjacent color groups that is present in each color and the number of colors in the color group. In a color palette so sorted, for each color corresponding available harmonious colors are generally sorted to about the same relative location within their respective color groups. The colors are further sorted by a second attribute of the color.
Abstract:
A color measurement device comprising a means for electronically recording a digital color image, a target holder extending from the recording means having a distal end, and a target at the distal end of the holder, the target having one or more reference color regions thereon.
