摘要: A hybrid display is disclosed. The hybrid display includes an electrophoretic module configured to display information through reflection of light incident from an exterior thereof, and a light emitting module formed at a lower surface of the electrophoretic module, to output color light to the electrophoretic module. The electrophoretic module includes a first substrate, a second substrate spaced apart from the first substrate, a plurality of capsules disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, each of the capsules containing particles having a color and a fluid having a color therein, and an electrode configured to apply an electric filed to the capsule, thereby moving the particles. The color light output from the light emitting module is mixed with the color of the fluid, and is then outwardly output. The hybrid display exhibits excellent visibility even in a dark environment, and the background color thereof is variously changeable.

In one embodiment, an example display may include an electrophoretic display, a light guide configured to direct light from one or more light emitting diodes, and a cover lens assembly. The cover lens assembly may include a cover glass layer, an anti-glare film coupled to the cover glass layer, and a hot melt adhesive disposed about lateral edge surfaces of the cover glass layer and the anti-glare film, such that the hot melt adhesive forms a perimeter of the cover lens assembly.

摘要: The present invention relates to an electrophoretic light shutter display, more specifically, to a multi-stable transmissive electrophoretic light shutter display employing symmetric electrode patterning. The basic unit consists of four pixels with four identical square transparent electrodes connected with quadruple thin film transistors on the first substrate, an overlapped circular electrode on the second substrate, and a cell of electrophoretic particle dispersion fluid sandwiched between the first and second substrates. When an electric pulse is applied to any one of the pixels with a predetermined polarity, the colored charged particles will be able to move fan-in or fan-out radially with a linear grayscale. Therefore, the total transmission of the incident light through the shutter can be electronically modulated and maintained for good in zero-field conditions.
