摘要: The invention relates to holographic storage material (1) comprising at least one polymer film (3) and one metallic first layer (4) which is applied to the polymer film (3). In order to provide a storage material (1) having improved optical properties, a non-metallic second layer (5) and a metallic third layer (6) are provided. The second layer (5) is arranged between the first (4) and the third (6) layers. The total thickness of the first, second and third layers (4,5,6) is less than the wavelength of the radiation used for reading out.

摘要: This invention provides methods and apparatus for producing holograms by creating arrangement of laser-induced damages inside transparent materials. A method for transformation of an interference pattern into arrangement of points so that laser-induced damages created at these points are able to reconstruct high quality holographic images is disclosed. A method and apparatus for creation of small laser-induced damages needed for reproduction of holograms by transforming wavelength of laser radiation generating breakdowns at the predetermined points of transparent materials are described.

摘要: In a holographic data storage medium (1null), which has a polymer film (2) which serves as a storage layer and can be changed locally by heating, the polymer film (2) is set up as a top layer of the data storage medium (1null). Arranged underneath the polymer film (2) is an absorber layer (4) which has an absorber dye. The absorber dye is set up to at least partly absorb a write beam serving to put information in and to discharge the heat produced in the process at least partly locally to the polymer film (2). In an advantageous refinement of the data storage medium (1null), there is an adhesive layer (6) underneath the absorber layer (4) and a partly transparent reflective layer (8) between the polymer film (2) and the absorber layer (4).

摘要: Methods for creating a plurality of holographic diffraction grating patterns in a raster scan fashion. In accordance with the method, the desired pattern is made up of a large plurality of individual spots, each spot comprising a holographic diffraction grating of a predetermined grating spacing and angular orientation for that spot. Variation of the angular orientation and/or grating spacing between spots and/or groups of spots provide the desired holographic effect. The spot locations may vary as desired, including locations drawing out a desired pattern, and two-dimensional orthogonal matrices in which a pattern is drawn by variations between spots or group of spots as in a raster scan type image. Various embodiments and methods for creating the same are disclosed.
