摘要:
An improved minute countdown clock is provided that depicts the 24-hour day in terms of the number of remaining minutes, rather than in the standard 12-hour cycle. The present clock counts down the number of minutes that are left in the day, unlike a standard clock that depicts the amount of time that has passed in two separate cycles. The present invention may come in either analog or digital varieties. The present invention breaks time into smaller increments in order to reprogram individuals' concept and perception of passing time, to facilitate motivation to accomplish more goals, and finally to create a sense of value and ownership of personal time. Furthermore, the constant countdown creates a sense of urgency by helping people recognize that time is valuable and is lost once it passes.

A timepiece is disclosed allowing a reading of a first conventional time information by means of first analogue display means including a dial (5) and hours (4a) and minutes (4b) indicator members driven by a movement of the timepiece, this timepiece including second analogue display means allowing a simultaneous reading of second time information based on a decimal system wherein time is divided at least into thousandths of a day. The second analogue display means include the dial and the minutes indicator member in addition to complementary analogue display means (4a, 7; 4a, 7*; 4a, 8; 4c, 9; 4c, 9*; 4c, 10; 11, 12) indicating at least approximate decimal values (71; 81; 91; 101; 111) of the full hours expressed in thousandths of a day. The minutes indicator member indicates on a dial, in addition to the minutes, corresponding decimal values (51; 51a, 51b; 51a to 51d) over a total duration of one hour, and the decimal time information is formed by adding the decimal value indicated on the dial by the minutes indicator member (4b) and the approximate decimal value indicated by the complementary analogue display means.

An analog timepiece includes a dial, which has equally spaced 24 marks marked on the face thereof corresponding to 24 hours of a day, the 24 marks including a first series of 12 marks arranged in a day zone and a second series of 12 marks arranged in a night zone, hands turning on the face of the dial to indicate time, and a clock hand driving unit that turns the hands on the face of the dial to indicate time, the clock hand driving unit including a pulse generating unit that outputs 0.5 pulse/sec signal, and a motor controlled by the 0.5 pulse/sec signal to turn the hands on the face of the dial to indicate time.

A clock for representing twenty-five (25) simulated hours in a twenty-four (24) hour real-time day is provided. The clock preferably includes a clock face having indicia printed thereon at twenty-five (25) equally-spaced intervals, each of the intervals representing a simulated hour in a twenty-five (25) hour simulated day. The clock includes a conventional hour and minute hand for cooperating with the clock face to provide a time indication. A clock drive mechanism simultaneously drives the minute hand around the clock face, and the hour hand between spaced intervals, in 1/25th of the twenty four hour real-time day. The clock may also be provided with a second hand driven by the clock drive mechanism around the clock face in 24/25th's of a real-time minute.

A timekeeping instrument is disclosed which is suitable for teaching a new system of timekeeping, namely, decimal time. By decimal time is meant the division of a day into decimal components rather than the conventional division of the day into hours, minutes and seconds. The teaching instrument disclosed has a single hand which corresponds to the hour hand of a conventional clock and the dial or face of the instrument bears indicia of the normal hourly divisions, that is, the twenty-four hours in a day. The face of the teaching instrument also bears indicia of the decimal divisions of the day. The face may also be provided with a digital display which presents a readout in decimal form of the precise time of day, and the day of the year. Another timekeeping instrument is disclosed which is suitable for timekeeping in decimal time. The instrument disclosed has a single hand and a dial or face having circumferentially disposed decimal divisions. There is also disclosed a time recording clock suitable for printing on a time card, such as those used in industry to record the time of arrival and departure of employees, a record of the decimal time such events occurred.

Devices, systems, and methods for presenting date and time information are described. In some embodiments, a date and/or a time value is presented as a base-36 number. In some embodiments, an integral portion of the base-36 number represents a date value, and a fractional portion of the base-36 number represents a time value. Each base-36 digit may be represented by one of the numerals 0-9 and the letters A-Z. Both digital and analog clocks and a clock application displaying date and/or time information in which a day is broken into thirty-six increments are disclosed. A clock application displaying coordinates of a location based on a base-36 geo-positioning system is disclosed.
