摘要： Methods that can parallel search a partitioned data set extended (PSDE) indexes are provided. One method includes managing a set of quick indexes in a memory device in which the set of quick indexes include references to storage locations for a subset of members of a PDSE stored in a set of long-term storage devices. The method further includes receiving a request to determine a storage location of a member of the PDSE and, in response to the request, searching the set of quick indexes to determine the storage location. Systems and computer program products for performing the above method are also provided.

摘要： In an approach to determining an access method for a partition in a partition table, a computer receives a query and determines if there is a partition table utilized by the query. When there is a partition table utilized by the query, then the computer determines that a partition in the partition table meets the plurality of conditions of the query. The computer collects a plurality of partition level statistics for the partition that meets the plurality of conditions of the query. Additionally, the computer determines, based, at least in part, on the plurality of partition level statistics, a cost for one or more access methods for the partition that meets the plurality of conditions of the query. Furthermore, the computer determines, based, at least in part, on the cost for each access method, an access method for the partition that meets the plurality of conditions of the query.

摘要： A resistivity measuring tool used in a drillstring having a drill bit on a distal end for drilling a wellbore in a formation includes a tool body having a longitudinal axis, a sensor configured to measure the angular position of the tool body relative to the wellbore, at least one axial antenna including a wire winding for generating an axial magnetic moment parallel with the longitudinal axis, and at least one transverse antenna. The transverse antenna includes an antenna body disposed within a pocket extending radially inward from an outer surface of the tool body and one or more turns of wire wound around the antenna body, the wire winding generating a transverse magnetic moment orthogonal to the longitudinal axis.
