The cash box is configured for a mechanical and communications-related installation in an automated teller machine. It comprises a storage module which is configured for storing a number of banknotes, an internal control device arranged in the cash box for controlling the cash box, and a transceiver which is coupled to the internal control device and is formed to wirelessly transmit data to a communications interface of an external control unit disposed outside the cash box and receive the data from the same. The transceiver is formed to transmit and receive the data according to the Near-Field-Communication transmission standard.

    摘要： A currency handling system includes a safe at a first location. The safe seals received currency in a tamper evident container before allowing access to the container. The container includes a container body defining a mouth providing access to an inner volume having variable height. The inner volume has a length and width sized to receive and hold currency in a stacked arrangement. The container also includes an information storage device disposed on the container body and a closure fastener disposed on at least one of the mouth and a side wall of the container body for holding the mouth in a permanently closed state, preventing non-destructive access to the inner volume of the container body. The currency handling system also includes a secure deposit system at a second location configured to receive the sealed container.

The method includes retrieving the sealed container, transporting the sealed container to a second location, and receiving the sealed container in a secure deposit system at the second location.

    摘要： The system and method described herein may validate and trace currency serial numbers, which may be extracted from the currency with a mobile telephone camera. The mobile telephone may use a messaging service to transmit the extracted serial numbers to a data processing facility, which may then compare the serial numbers transmitted from the mobile telephone to a list that includes information identifying currencies that are invalid, counterfeit, or known to be associated with criminal activities. In response to the extracted serial numbers matching any of the identifying information in the list, the currency may be deemed invalid. Furthermore, biometric information or information read from identification documents associated with an individual using the invalid or wanted currency may be obtained to help later identify the individual, and triangulation techniques may be used to track the mobile telephone and apprehend the individual.
