摘要: An apparatus and method are provided for checking the authenticity of the security element of a value document. For checking the authenticity of the security element, reversed bright/dark modulation is examined. For this purpose, for determining a combination course, the remission course and the transmission course along the longitudinal direction of the security element are set off against each other pixel by pixel and the combination course obtained by setting off pixel by pixel is checked with regard to an intensity modulation along the longitudinal direction of the security element.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for providing a sealed container of traceable resources. The system may comprise receiving a request for an amount of resources to be provided in a sealed container. A set of individual resource items may be collected to meet this request. Information about the denominations and unique identifiers of these resource items may be identified, and each resource item can be verified for authenticity. The system may then secure the collected set of individual resource items in a container, apply a tamper-evident seal to the container, and apply an informational notification to the container. The informational notification may provide information on the makeup of the container contents as well as an indication of the verification of the contents. This sealed container can then be dispensed for future use.

摘要: A method and system for reading a security seal having a unique far-field pattern are described. Periodic nano-structure is generated on the surface of a substrate having spacings of hundreds of nanometers, or smaller, and affixed on a product, or generated directly onto the product. A laser beam having a wavelength longer than the periodic spacings directed onto at least a portion of the surface of the substrate at a chosen angle of incidence and a selected azimuthal angle relative to a chosen direction produces a unique far-field pattern that may be imaged by a digital image detector disposed at a chosen distance from the illuminated region, compared with a stored reference, and validated. The nanoscale sub-wavelength patterns can be printed using extreme ultraviolet light and read with readily available visible or ultraviolet light. The security seal contains a pattern that is invisible to the eye and to an optical microscope. Brand protection at different stages of the life-span of a product, from production to purchase is therefore available.

摘要: Ultrathin plasmene nanosheets are demonstrated as a new class of flexible surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate capable of conformal attachment and sensitive and reproducible detection of chemicals on topologically complex surfaces. Engineering building block morphologies allows for fine-tuning of the SERS performance. In a preferred application the plasmene nanosheets are demonstrated as the next generation plasmonic and/or SERS coded labels, such as for example, anti-counterfeit security label for banknotes. Engineering the morphologies of plasmene-constituent nanoparticles and varying of SERS molecular labels offer virtually unlimited coding capacities.
