Abstract:
A simulated musical string instrument formed of plural shaped sheets of rigid material, such as cardboard. There is a top sheet forming a top surface of the simulated string instrument body, and a bottom sheet forming a bottom surface, and multiple sheets between. A simulated fingerboard is attached to the top surface. The top sheet and fingerboard gets stickers that show parts of the simulated string instrument body including openings and notes. There is also a simulated bow guide and a simulated bow.
Abstract:
A method for learning music scale theory includes utilizing a music theory-based card game. A plurality of cards forms a deck, each card representing a predetermined music note according to a 7-note system. One or more players are dealt cards to make a hand. Players draw cards from a draw deck or a discard pile, and discard cards to the discard pile, until a player creates a sequence of cards in the player's hand that corresponds to a complete musical scale or mode.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for learning to play a musical instrument, such as a guitar, by incorporating a markable, erasable surface onto the neck of the instrument such that the student may apply, as needed, removable markings to the instrument that indicate the correct finger positions for playing the instrument. The incorporation of this markable, erasable surface onto the instrument is an improved method of learning because a student is better able to place his or her fingers in the correct positions on the instrument when learning how to play the instrument.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided which employs a system of musical notation which represents musical notes in a form of numbers, 1 to 7. The note numbers are defined to be mutually relative and are independent of any particular musical pitch or musical key. Optionally, a plurality of colors is used to identify specific chord and note numbers. Optionally, musical chord patterns are identified by numbers. Optionally, musical chord patterns are identified by colors. Optionally, key numbers are shown beneath corresponding lyric text, to provide an indication of rhythm pertaining to a musical piece defined in the system of musical notation. Optionally, note numbers are arranged on at least one horizontal line when presented for musical performance. The apparatus, and method employed in association therewith, are capable of expediting students when learning to play an instrument controlled via a keyboard, thereby improving student musical enjoyment and improvement in musical performance skill.
Abstract:
There is no staff in 3JCN Music Notation. Therefore, 3JCN Music Notation is very simple compare to Western Notation. A note in 3JCN Music Notation is represented by a lower case letter for the pitch class (a through g), preceded by the note's octave (1 through 11) and followed by the note's duration (a real number). For example, 6c1 is for note “c” in 6th octave (middle C) with 1 unit of duration.
Abstract:
In conventional dance textbook, since there was no correlation between dance choreography and music, it was not easy to grasp the pace of dance upon dancing to the music. A ‘printed material with musical score’ 1 of the present invention, which is a musical score for expressing dance to the music, comprises a ‘first area for placement’, wherein an ‘area for dance motion’ 3, for expressing a ‘dance form’ 2 corresponding to each beat of the music is placed. According to this configuration, it is possible to learn a dance matching to the pace of music without the music by the correspondence between the beat of the music and the dance form.
Abstract:
System showing the finger positions on multiple different musical instruments for all the chords in all the keys of the Major Scale, color co-ordinated to western music's twelve point chromatic scale, showing key signature, character, chromatic scale degree and other relevant musical information.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for composing and teaching of music while learning to read music is provided that involves a user following a supported sequence of tasks that guide creativity of the user to construct a musical composition. The musical composition is constructed by assigning alphabetical characters to colors and musical notes to form a chart, forming words and phrases using the alphabetical characters, and cross-referencing the words and phrases to the chart. Various interactive components and computer software facilitate use of the method and process.
Abstract:
A method of creating a visual representation of a musical work. Data processing apparatus analyses the work, determines attributes, including a the pitch and duration of each note, and creates a data file which is used output the work in a form readable by the human eye. Symbols representing notes are placed on a grid at vertical positions in accordance with their pitch, and horizontal positions representing time. A first basic symbol is assigned to the natural notes in an octave, a second basic symbol is assigned to sharp accidentals, and a third basic symbol is assigned to flat accidentals. The horizontal extent of the symbols represents note duration. Each of the seven natural notes in an octave is assigned a colour and a vertical position on the grid, and the sharp accidental and flat accidental notes are assigned the same colour and vertical position as the associated natural note.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a system and method for visualization of music and other sounds. In one embodiment, the twelve notes of an octave are labeled. When notes are played, the intervals between the notes are visualized by displaying a line between the labels corresponding to the note labels. In some embodiments, the lines representing the intervals are color coded with a different color for each of the six intervals.
