    摘要: The invention disclosed herein comprises a method for visually representing music to be played on a musical instrument by providing a tablature staff which is divided into individual measures by segmenting the tablature staff with measure lines. Each measure is then further divided into proportional time subdivisions using subdivision lines. Alphanumeric notes are then printed between these subdivision lines on the tablature staff, wherein each alphanumeric note represents a tone to be played on a musical instrument and wherein the duration of each alphanumeric note is indicated by the number of time subdivisions within a measure and its corresponding font size.

    摘要: A graphical view of a file component associated with an audio that is displayed in a graphical user interface (GUI) is automatically switched during playback of the audio. The switching is based on a Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) view-switching track associated with a project file for the audio. In various embodiments, a musical instrument displayed in the GUI is automatically switched during playback of the audio based on a MIDI instrument-switching track associated with the same project file. Additionally, a metronome beat associated with the audio is automatically switched between on and off during playback of the audio based at least in part on a MIDI metronome-switching track associated with the song audio.

    摘要: A music learning aid to assist musicians in learning and using music theory. The music learning aid includes a semicircular folding substrate and two circular and substantially concentric discs having progressively smaller diameters. The substrate and discs are secured together at a central point such the discs are independently rotatable. By rotation and alignment of selected discs the user is able to determine chords, scales and notes associated with musical works. The device allows the user to transpose music from one key to another, as well as transposing chords, scales or intervals.

Labels with visual indicators provide a reference to performers such that a proper combination of instrument inputs may be selected at the appropriate time. The visual indicators include colors and/or shapes. The visual indicators may be presented using differently-colored lyrical text, where each color corresponds to a set of notes. Each set of notes may for a chordal group such as a triad. The visual indicators may be associated with labels that are able to be adhered to various instrument inputs such as keys of a keyboard or piano.

When notes are played, the intervals between the notes are visualized by displaying a line between the labels corresponding to the note labels.
