    摘要: An optical disc (11 to 18) having sectors (3) each having a sector ID further comprises: a first area (4) having a first set of sectors (313-315) sequentially arranged on the disc (11 to 18) according to their respective IDs, a second area (5) having a second set of sectors (316-318) sequentially arranged on the disc (11 to 18) according to their respective IDs, the second area (5) being located after the first area (4) in respect of a disc scan direction (B) and having at least one sector ID which duplicates that of a sector in the first set of sectors, a start sector (33) located before the first area (4), and navigation data indicating to an optical disc reader, after having read the start sector (33), to displace its pickup reader device to a first target sector (316, 317, 352) having a sector ID of one of the sectors of the second area (5) or of a sector located after the second area (5), wherein the number of sectors between the start sector (33) and the first target sector is chosen such that the optical disc reader jumps from the start sector (33) to the first target sector using a cross track mode.

    摘要: The invention relates to methods for recording data on an information medium such as, for example a CD or DVD, and can be used for protecting data against non-authorised coping, identifying data storage media and for data validation. The inventive method consists in forming a data file in the form of a first data sector sequence, the sector addresses of the sequence being embodied in the form of a sequence of natural numbers, recording the first sequence of the formed sectors with respective addresses on a spiral track. In addition, during the formation of the first sector sequence, at least one second data sector sequence whose sector addresses at least partially coincide with the sector addresses of the first sequence is formed, the number of coinciding addresses is equal to C and is not less than the number of data sectors recorded on two adjacent turns of the spiral track in an area which corresponds to the addresses of the sectors. Key data is registered in sectors having the coinciding addresses. Any digital reader can be used for reading out data from the discs.

    摘要: The more effective is the copy protection provided on a DVD, the greater is the likelihood that the copy protection will adversely interfere with legitimate uses of the disc. In a disc where the content is arranged in physical sectors, it is now proposed to provide subversive regions on the disc having a similar structure to genuine regions. A subversive region and a genuine region will each extend over one or more physical sectors. The subversive region will be provided with physical sector addresses which coincide with addresses of the genuine region. Navigational data will ensure that it is the genuine, rather than the subversive, region which will be accessed during normal play, but the subversive region will effectively hide the genuine region during copying.
