A first branch circuit of the n branch circuits is coupled between the first power divider and the first power combiner. A (k−1)-th branch circuit of the n branch circuits is coupled to a k-th branch circuit of the n branch circuits (where “k” is an integer from 2 to n). A dispersive delay line and method for fabricating the delay line is described in which coaxial cable is utilized and in which the dispersive or bandpass characteristic is established by the crimping of the coaxial cable in such a manner that the axial crimp length is small compared to the wavelength, thereby providing a discontinuity which behaves like a simple shunt capacity. A simple fabrication technique is utilized in which the crimps are applied to the line at selected points by use of a four-tooth crimping tool.

A method and system are disclosed for selectively varying the phase dispersion characteristic of a dispersive meander line as well as a method and system for employing the variable dispersion characteristics for second harmonic signal suppression in amplifier chains. The dispersive characteristics of the disclosed variable dispersion meander line are varied by selectively changing the ratio between the gap spacing of interacting line segments and the pitch of the interacting line segments. The gap spacing to pitch ratio may be continuously varied within a desired range while maintaining an acceptable characteristic impedance.
