    摘要: A residual current circuit breaker has a summation current transformer that has primary windings as well as a secondary and a tertiary winding, the secondary winding forming a circuit with an electronic trigger unit that is independent of the network voltage, and the tertiary winding forming a circuit with an electronic trigger unit that is dependent on the network voltage. The residual current circuit breaker may have an electronic control unit designed to actuate a switch upon predefinable actuation by the network voltage-dependent electronic trigger unit, and the switch, when in the actuated state, may interrupt contact of the secondary winding with the network voltage-independent electronic trigger unit and establishes contact of the tertiary winding with the network voltage-dependent electronic trigger unit.

    摘要: A magnetic core is electromagnetically coupled to two conductors that allow an AC current to flow through. An exciter is configured to supply a winding with an excitation current that is an alternating current. A current detector is configured to detect a current flowing through the winding. A DC component detector is configured to detect a DC component level from the current detected with the current detector. Two contact elements are respectively disposed along the two conductors. A discrimination controller is configured to: turn the two contact elements on when the DC component level detected with the DC component detector is less than or equal to a threshold; turn the two contact elements off when the DC component level detected with the DC component detector is greater than the threshold; and turn the two contact elements off in de-energized condition.

The AC component has a frequency higher than a frequency of the DC component. The filter sub-circuit is configured generate a DC output that is based on the DC component. The control circuit also includes an analysis sub-circuit that is configured to receive the DC output and determine that the DC output has passed a designated threshold. The analysis sub-circuit is configured to trip a relay or output a signal when the DC output passes the designated threshold.

    摘要: An over voltage protection device for a GFCI having a voltage divider network connected across the line terminals of the GFCI, and an over voltage detecting diode connected between the voltage divider network and a gate terminal of an SCR. The voltage divider and diode cause a signal to be fed to the gate terminal of the SCR to trip the GFCI when an over voltage condition exists at the line terminals. The voltage divider is adjustable, with the sensitivity of the over voltage protection varying in accordance with adjustment of the potential from the voltage divider. In an embodiment of the invention, the circuit includes an indicator, such as a photodiode, which indicates the occurrence of an over voltage condition. In addition, a blocking diode is connected between the gate terminal of the SCR and a triggering terminal of an integrated circuit of the GFCI where the over voltage detecting diode conducts current to the gate terminal when an over voltage condition occurs, and the blocking diode conducts current to the gate terminal of the SCR when a ground-fault condition occurs.

    摘要: A ground fault circuit interrupter for a direct current (DC) system which can interrupt DC power connections to one or more loads when a fault is detected is disclosed herein. Specifically, the circuit interrupter includes a toroidal core having a winding wound around the core. An alternating current supply is coupled to the current sense winding. Source and return wires of an external DC current supply pass through the core, coupling the DC current supply to respective ends of an external DC load. A current imbalance between the source and return wires causes the core to saturate changing the impedance of the winding. The impedance change causes a fault signal to be generated and said fault signal is used to break the electrical connection between the external direct current supply and the external load.

    摘要: A leakage current protection device, such as a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI), is provided that can be used in single phase or polyphase systems, with a range of input voltages from 70 to 264 volts AC, frequencies of 50 or 60 hertz, and ground fault trip currents of 6 to 30 milliamperes. A leading power factor circuit is connected to the secondary winding of the GFCI differential transformer to permit the magnetic circuit to respond to pulsating DC signals. Provision is made for continuing to provide GFCI protection in the event of an open neutral lead, with a timing circuit to prevent current flow to the ground lead until current flow in the neutral lead is completely discontinued. Various types of circuit interrupting devices, such as a circuit breaker or a power converter, may be selectively utilized.
