    摘要: A continuous film scanning system for high resolution digital archival and duplication of motion picture film on a frame by frame basis. Film is driven through the film scanning system through the use of rollers and maintained at a consistent tension throughout the scanning process. Optical interrogation of the perforations associated with each film frame is used to trigger digital image capture. The continuous film scanning system is particularly well adapted to safely handle imperfect or damaged film stock.

    摘要: A machine vision process monitors and controls safe working practice in a production area by capturing and processing image data relative to personal protective equipment (PPE) worn by individuals, movement of various articles, and movement-related conformations of individuals and other objects in the production area. The data is analyzed to determine whether there is a violation of a predetermined minimum threshold image, movement, or conformation value for a predetermined threshold period of time. The determination of a safety violation triggers computer activation of a safety control device. The process is carried out using a system including an image data capturing device, a computer and computer-readable program code, and a safety control device.

When reading the image to be processed, the photographic film is conveyed at the same conveying speed as at the time of fine scan, and from the time point when the reading is complete, the high speed conveying of the photographic film is resumed and the photographic film is delivered. In a case where adjacent images are designated as the images to be processed, an operation similar to the one described above is performed until completion of reading the images to be processed, and then, the images to be processed are fine scanned after returning the photographic film to a position where the reading conditions for the images to be processed can be set.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a scanner and a method of conveying and scanning photographic media. In the invention, an entrance roller pair and an exit roller pair are used to convey the photographic media thorough the scanner. The entrance roller pair and the exit roller pair each include idler rollers that can be selective moved toward their respective drive rollers and away from their respective drive rollers so as to selectively provide for an engaged or a disengaged position for each of the entrance roller pair and the exit roller pair. With the system of the present invention it is possible to lift the idler rollers before the leading and trailing edges of the media passes over the respective drive rollers to thus minimize any disturbance of media motion during scanning.

    摘要: An apparatus achieves an exposure control for getting an image with the best SN without a mechanical iris and an image processing which is good at the color-reappearance and the gradation property with a simple digital processing circuit. When the film image is read by the line sensor 14 which has an electric shutter function, the electric shutter, the film feeding speed and the analog amplifier 16 are controlled totally so as to obtain images with the best SN from high to low transmittance negatives. And, when the dot sequential R, G, B digital signals are processed digitally, the offset values and the gain volumes of the respective R, G, B are calculated based on the maximum value and the minimum value which are detected by the respective R, G, B digital signals, the calculated offset values of the respective R, G, B are added to the dot sequential R, G, B digital signals which are obtained during the re-scanning, and the calculated gain volumes of the respective R, G, B are multiplied by the offset dot-sequential R, G, B digital signals so as to adjust the white balance and the black balance.

    摘要: A film scanner is disclosed which comprises a dynamic film gate. The film gate includes a pair of capstans for supporting the film at an imaging station and a pair of belts which clamp the film against the capstans. The capstans are driven to advance the film through the imaging station. An integrating cylinder, located between the capstans, produces a line of light on the film, and light transmitted through the film in imaged onto a linear CCD image sensor. In order to provide a more efficient drive mechanism for the capstans, the drive shaft for the capstans is incorporated in the integrating cylinder.
