The apparatus may include a plurality of pairs of radiating ports, and a plurality of electrically conductive elements. Each pair of radiating ports may include two radiating ports configured to emit RF radiation into the cavity coherently with each other; and each electrically conductive element may be positioned between two radiating ports constituting a pair of radiating ports. The electrically conductive elements may be arranged such that RF radiation emitted by the plurality of pairs of radiating ports concentrates closer to the center of the cavity than that in the absence of the electrically conductive elements.

    摘要: A reusable self-supporting field director structure for use in heating an article in a microwave oven is characterized by an integral array of rigid vanes extending radially outwardly from a central axis, the vanes being molded from an electrically non-conductive heat-resistant material. At least a portion of one major surface of each vane has an electrically conductive material embedded thereinto. The electrically non-conductive heat-resistant material is either a polymeric resin (with an optional reinforcing matrix) or paperboard material. A plurality of bracing members, each extending between the first major surface of one vane and the second major surface of an adjacent vane, may be integrally molded into the field director structure.

    摘要: A multi-slot resonant microwave device comprises a plurality of slot microwave resonator units and at least one microwave emitting source. Each of the plurality of slot microwave resonator unit is defined as a slot resonant cavity. Whenever at least one of the microwave emitting sources emits microwave power into the plurality of slot microwave resonator units, the plurality of slot microwave resonator units resonate simultaneously, and produce an electromagnetic field with the same polarization direction. Therefore, the multi-slot resonator device can deal with large-area microwave heating with greater microwave effect to shorten operating time and accomplish the objective of homogeneous and megathermal microwave heating.

    摘要: A launcher for microwave radiation comprises an elongate guide part, a surround part which surrounds a length of the guide part, at least one inwardly facing baffle provided on an inner face of the surround part and extending towards the guide part; and at least one outwardly facing baffle provided on an outer face of the guide part which is spaced axially along the guide part relative to the at least one inwardly facing baffle and faces outwards towards the inner surface of the surround part. The baffle(s) together with the guide part and the surround part define a labyrinth seal which in use acts as a choke to prevent microwaves escaping by passing though the gap between the guide part and surround part, and are arranged so that in at least one position of the surround part and the guide part there is no direct mechanical path from the surround part to the guide part, the parts being free to move relative to one another in at least one direction from that position without creating a direct rigid mechanical path from the surround to the guide part.

    摘要: The present invention concerns a method and a device for uniformly heating a sample by microwave radiation. According to the invention, at least one stirring element is immersed at least partly in a sample to be heated, said stirring element comprising a magnetic or magnetisable material. A rotating or oscillating magnetic field interacting with said stirring element is generated in a cavity adapted to receive the sample to be heated in order to impart a rotational or translational movement to said stirring element. The rotational or translational movement of said stirring element is contactlessly detected while applying microwave radiation to said sample.
