    摘要: A gate drive circuit for a controllably conductive device, such as a triac, includes a trigger circuit for conducting a gate current through a control input of the controllably conductive device, and a sense circuit operable to generate a control signal representative of the magnitude of the gate current. The controllably conductive device is adapted to be coupled in series between an AC power source and an electrical load for controlling the amount of power delivered to the electrical load. The controllably conductive device is operable to change from a non-conductive state to a conductive state in response to the gate current being conducted through the control input. A controller is operable to control the controllably conductive device via the gate drive circuit and to determine, in response to the magnitude of the gate current through the control input of the controllably conductive device, whether the controllably conductive device is presently conducting current to the load.

    摘要: A circuit (10) for powering a halogen lamp (20) comprises an inverter (100) and an output circuit (300). During operation, the inverter (100) and output circuit (300) provide a magnitude-limited current to the halogen lamp such that the lamp power during an initial period is substantially less than the lamp power during a steady-state operating period. Preferably, output circuit (300) is a non-isolated circuit that includes a current-limiting inductance, and inverter (100) includes a frequency control circuit (R2,C4,C7,Q3,R3,R5,C8) for operating the inverter at a higher frequency during the initial period so as to reduce stress upon the lamp filament and preserve the operating life of the lamp. The circuit (10) is especially suitable for powering low voltage halogen lamps.

    摘要: A method for converting a line voltage to an RMS load voltage in a lamp includes providing a a control circuit which includes a switch and a microcontroller that operates the switch to establish an RMS load voltage for the lamp. The load voltage of the lamp is sensed and the sensed load voltage is compared in the microcontroller to a reference RMS voltage. Operation of the switch is adjusted in response to the comparison so that the RMS load voltage is substantially constant at the reference RMS voltage over a first operating range of the line voltage and so that the RMS load voltage decreases with decreasing line voltage at non-zero line voltages less than the first operating range.

A timer circuit is triggered as a function of a voltage level of the at least one energy store, and activates the sensor system to transmit at least one transmission message after a specific time interval.
