    摘要: A sheet for use in a heat exchange apparatus. The sheet includes a first vertical rib that extends in a first direction generally parallel to the vertical axis of the heat exchange apparatus, wherein said first vertical rib protrudes in a second direction out of the plane. The sheet also includes a second vertical rib that extends in the first direction along the sheet, substantially all the way between the first and second edges of the sheet generally parallel to the first vertical rib. The second vertical rib also protrudes in the second direction out of the plane. The sheet further includes a first horizontal rib that extends in a third direction along the sheet substantially all the way between the third and fourth edges of the sheet, wherein the first horizontal rib protrudes in a fourth direction opposite said second direction. The sheet additionally includes a second horizontal rib that extends in the third direction along the sheet substantially all the way between the third and fourth edges of the sheet generally parallel to the first horizontal rib. The second horizontal rib protrudes in a fourth direction opposite the second direction, into the plane and intersects said second vertical rib.

    摘要: A cooling tower having a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger includes at least one heat exchanger pack having a generally diamond shape. The heat exchanger pack includes a first set of passageways for receiving a stream of warm, water laden air and a second set of passageways for receiving ambient air. The first set of passageways and second set of passageways are separate. Cooling tower configurations including the heat exchanger pack are disclosed for achieving effluent plume abatement, and capture of a portion of the effluent for replacement back into the cooling tower reservoir or as a source of purified water.

    摘要: An upright peripheral tower wall has a lower region with air inlet apertures and an upper region with an air outlet. An upper annulus of first heat-exchange elements is arranged inwardly adjacent the wall, and a downwardly offset second small-diameter lower annulus of heat-exchange elements is inwardly spaced from the upper annulus, the elements of each annulus being upwardly and inwardly inclined and having upper and lower end portions, and at least some of the elements of each annulus acting as condensers. A supply conduit is centrally located within the confines of the tower wall for supplying vaporous medium. A plurality of straight connecting pipes radiate substantially horizontally from the supply conduit and communicate with the upper portions of the first elements, and a plurality of substantially horizontal condensate collecting tubes communicate with the lower end portions of the first elements and also with the upper end portions of the second elements, so as to convey both condensate and vaporous medium from the first to the second elements.

The first set of passageways and second set of passageways being separate and permitting the warm water laden air stream to be cooled by the stream of ambient air so that water can condense out of the warm water laden air stream.     摘要: A natural-draft cooling tower having a plurality of preferably roof-shaped heat exchange elements for condensing the turbine exhaust steam from a power plant. A portion of the heat exchange elements are connected to operate as condensers, and another portion of the heat exchange elements are connected to operate as dephlegmators, reflux condensers or fractionating columns, with the latter being disposed downstream, when viewed in the direction of flow of the steam, of the heat exchange elements that operate as condensers. In order to assure a complete condensation, and a residual condensation in the heat exchange elements that operate as reflux condensers, under all weather and load conditions, the heat exchange elements that operate as reflux condensers are each provided with a respective fan, the conveying capacity of which can be regulated.
