摘要: A molding apparatus for plastic objects which includes a valve which allows ejector pins to be positioned in close proximity to the valve needle. The valve includes a valve body and a flange surrounding at least a portion of the valve body such that the outer edges of the valve body and/or the flange may have slots which extend lengthwise from the top to the bottom of the valve. Depressed portions in the side portions of the flange and corresponding outer edges of the valve body may also extend through the length of the valve. The slots and depressed portions may be utilized for positioning ejector pins in close proximity to the valve needle.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a hot nozzle for use with a mold for runnerless injection molding of plastic material. The hot nozzle includes a body formed of a conductive metal having a predetermined electrical resistance. The body has a nozzle portion and a base portion, and has a pair of diametrically disposed longitudinal slits extending substantially over the length thereof except at least a portion of the forward end of the nozzle portion in such a manner as to divide the nozzle portion substantially into two sections. The base portion has on opposite ends separated by the slits a pair of power receiving mechanisms for connection to an external source of power. With this arrangement, the nozzle portion itself, particularly at the front end thereof, is heated by voltage applied across the opposite ends of the base portion. Further, the outer surface of the nozzle body is covered with a dielectric and adiabatic film so as to prevent leakage of resin from the nozzle through the slits and ensure both electrical and thermal insulation of the heating nozzle portion.

摘要: A nozzle for a die casting machine of the type having mold halves that move toward and away from the parting line and engage a nozzle located on the parting line. The nozzle is free to "float" a limited amount on its surface mounting so as to assume a correct location at every shot in response to the die inserts closing around it. The nozzle also has a frusto-conical surface on the exit end of its aperture to provide a clean breakaway after a shot is made and only a small contact area is provided on the nozzle for engagement by the molds to reduce heat transfer thereto from the nozzle, moreover the structure increases specific superficial pressure between the nozzle area and the mold insert area in order to crush any metal debris that accumulates during the casting operation.

摘要: A nozzle utilized to grout or fill cold joints and cracks formed in or occuring at structural corners. The nozzle includes a tip which is defined by converging planar surfaces about an axial opening. The nozzle tip defining surfaces include a relatively large area which is separated from the nozzle axial opening for wall contact to permit the nozzle to be secured by an adhesive or bonding agent to the corner walls before injection of the grouting material or sealant.

摘要: A fixing in a wall is made by drilling a hole, inserting the pin of a nozzle mounted on a hot melt gun into the hole and injecting molten polypropylene into the space between the pin and the hole. The polypropylene is allowed to solidify and the nozzle is removed leaving a wall plug ready for the insertion of a screw.Three embodiments of a nozzle especially adapted for use in this process are described.

摘要: Giant articles of cellular plastic are molded in injection molding apparatus. Each of a plurality of injection nozzles comprises a bore in which an injection plunger reciprocates between a withdrawn position at which the tip of the injection plunger rests during the brief mold-filling step and an advanced position at which the tip rests during much of the prolonged step of cooling the molded article. As the plunger advances from its withdrawn position, it first acts as a valve to discontinue flow of the plastic into the nozzle bore and then during a principal portion of its advancing stroke, the injection plunger purges the residual cellular plastic between an inlet orifice and the nozzle tip and forces it into the mold. Only in the final stages of the withdrawing stroke does the tip of the injection plunger expose the inlet orifice to open the valve to renew the flow of cellular plastic to the mold. Power means such as a hydraulic cylinder for each injection plunger actuates the reciprocation. The improvement concerns means provided to each injection plunger as soon as it had completed a selected major amount of its withdrawing stroke so that it is temporarily braked at a position near the brink of valve-opening position. Sensors detect and provide signals while an injection plunger is thus braked at a brink of opening position. A simultaneity control system detects the signals and responds as soon as the signals establish that every injection plunger is at such brink of opening position, and then simultaneously releases the brake for each and all of the injection plungers, which then move to the fully withdrawn positions, thereby simultaneously opening all of the valves. More reproducible articles are molded when the plurality of nozzles are reliably opened with improved simultaneity than when the injection plungers withdrawn by the plurality of hydraulic cylinders by a single stage movement.
