    摘要: A relief system for process fluids under pressure. The system includes a normally open isolation valve in fluid communication with a process system under pressure through an upstream conduit. A buckling pin actuator is in fluid communication with the upstream conduit through a sensing line. A spring activated actuator is engaged with the isolation relief valve in order to retain the isolation valve in a closed position. A buckling actuator bypass valve is supplied with non process fluid pressure to an input port and the buckling actuator bypass valve also includes a first output port to the spring activated actuator and a second output port to a vent whereby pressure in the process system above a predetermined level will actuate the buckling pin actuator, moving said buckling actuator bypass valve to said second outlet port to vent and thereby moving the spring activated actuator in order to open the isolation valve.

    摘要: A single-action discharge valve for discharging a vessel's contents. The valve has a valve body with a passage therethrough through which the contents are discharged, a frangible seal held within the valve body and sealing the passage while the seal is intact, and a solenoid including an armature moveable from a first to a second position. As the armature moves, pins or teeth impact and break the frangible seal. Magnets hold the armature in the first position until the solenoid is actuated. The armature is substantially exterior of the passage so that discharge is unimpeded. In one embodiment, the pins reciprocate radially when cammed by the armature and impact the sidewall of a frangible dome seal. In other embodiments, teeth on the armature, or pins in the armature's path, reciprocate parallel to the armature's movement and impact a frangible disk.

The annular face part 6 is inserted into the one-way clutch structure 25, thereby restraining the actuator and valve from being rotated in one circumferential direction.

    摘要: A pressure relief apparatus includes a valve having a body. A shaft is rotatably disposed in the body and has an exterior end extending through the body. A plug, which may contain an internal passageway, is mounted on the shaft and is disposed in the fluid flowpath. The body is engageable with the system to expose the plug to the pressurized fluid so that the pressurized fluid acts on the plug to exert a torque on the shaft which is offset from the center line of the plug. The apparatus further includes a linkage assembly configured to translate the torque exerted on the shaft into an output force. A release device, such as a buckling pin or a magnet, is connected to the linkage assembly and is configured to release the shaft when the output force exceeds a predetermined limit. Preferably, the linkage assembly is adjustable to vary the magnitude of the output force corresponding to a given torque. A low torque seal secured in place by a retaining ring is disposed in the body to prevent fluid from leaking through the body past the plug.

    摘要: A pressure relief apparatus includes a valve having a body. A shaft is rotatably disposed in the body and has an exterior end extending through the body. A plug, which may contain an internal passageway, is mounted on the shaft and is disposed in the fluid flowpath. The body is engageable with the system to expose the plug to the pressurized fluid so that the pressurized fluid acts on the plug to exert a torque on the shaft which is offset from the center line of the plug. The apparatus further includes a linkage assembly configured to translate the torque exerted on the shaft into an output force. A release device, such as a buckling pin or a magnet, is connected to the linkage assembly and is configured to release the shaft when the output force exceeds a predetermined limit.     摘要: A production valve includes an outer housing having a production port, a piston disposed within the outer housing and adapted to move from one position to another position, a frangible breakup element supporting the piston in the one position, and a detonating cord adapted for propagating a detonation wave passing through the center of the piston and the breakup element. The detonation wave shatters the frangible breakup element when the detonation wave, propagating within the detonating cord, passes through the breakup element. When the breakup element shatters, the support provided to the piston by the breakup element is removed. When the support provided to the piston by the breakup element is removed, the piston moves from the one position to the other position in response to either tubing pressure or rathole pressure or both, and the production port of the production valve opens when the piston moves to the other position.

    摘要: A combination pressure relief valve is formed by a cylindrical valve body secured to a vessel containing fluid to be monitored. The end of the valve body opposite the vessel is normally closed by superposed dual valves comprising primary and secondary valves closing the valve body against excessive fluid pressure by a cage supported collapsible pin. Openings in the primary valve are normally closed by the spring biased secondary valve but are opened by ambient air pressure on the secondary valve, in the event of fluid pressure below atmospheric in the vessel being monitored.
