摘要： A door handle has an elongated member pivotally connected with a plate member. The elongated member has a toe portion which interacts with the plate member. In this way, the elongated member is at least partially retained by the plate member at each end. The door handle provides an anti-ligature design that thwarts suicide attempts by persons attempting to affix or hang ligatures on the door handle. The door handle is also easily operable by those with disabilities.

摘要： A lockset for a door has knobs which are generally conical in shape and tapered inwardly with distance from the door surface to prevent attachment of a noose. Finger receiving concavities are provided circumferentially about the inward tapering surface of the knob to facilitate grasping without providing any projection about which a noose can be secured. One or both knobs of the lockset can optionally be provided with a handle at its pistol end from the door which can be grasped between fingers to further enhance gripping ability while avoiding the provision of a projection to which a noose can be attached.

An opaque plastic light transmitting barrier is formed between the light pipe window or light pipe and the openings in the trim ring and cover. The light transmitting barrier is molded as a part of a gripping overlay applied to the outer surface of the skirt of the knob.

摘要： A cover is provided, preferably for securing valves, propellers, door knobs and the like. The cover entails a hinged plate having two sections. Each section contains an indentation which, when the sections are closed, forms an aperture. A pair of arms may depend from each section in alignment with the indentations. When the sections are closed, the arms will form a hollow column in alignment with the aperture. The hollow column will also preferably contain a constriction, preferably formed by a pair of lips extending inwardly from each arm. The sections will also contain sidewalls rising from the sections opposite the hollow column if it is present. A cap is provided which will fit over the sidewalls. A tongue and groove mechanism may be provided to allow the cap to engage the sidewalls and the sections to which they are attached. A plurality of locking apertures may also be provided in the sections and the cap so that the cover may be locked with a padlock. In use the aperture or constriction will close around a thin area on the object to be covered, such as the portion of a valve behind the locking nut, the portion of a propeller hub before its flared end, or the shaft of a door knob. The sidewalls will be sized to surround the object being covered, and the cap will fit over the sidewalls, thereby enclosing the object. If the cover, is locked, the object will then be secured.

摘要： A method of turning typical doorknobs and other knobs without having to grasp the knob enables persons with hand debilities to open doors. The method involves installation of a knob cover which is round and made of a resilient material which can be slipped over the knob without tools, and will snugly remain around the knob. Multiple levers protrude from the knob cover, so that pushing any of the levers will cause the knob to be turned. Each lever is substantially U-shaped with a rounded apex, to avoid discomfort which might be caused by pointed levers. Furthermore, each lever is made of a resilient, soft material to facilitate movement of the levers by sensitive hands. Each lever extends from the cover a sufficient distance to allow a closed fist to engage and push the lever, while each lever is short enough to avoid contact with a door jam or adjacent wall when the knob cover is installed on a doorknob.

摘要： An adapter for providing a lever attachment to a round door knob has a hollow threaded cylinder fitted with a lever which cylinder slides over the knob and is frictionally secured to the knob by compressing the knob between one end of the cylinder and a tightened split ring threaded into the other end of the cylinder. Elastomeric material placed on either or both sides of the knob increase the friction and prevent slipping of the adapter on the knob after tightening.
