Abstract: The invention relates to a handle (e.g., a fixed handle, rotary handle, or swivel lever handle) particularly with a lock insert or the like or escutcheon for mounting in a preferably thin wall (e.g., a sheet metal cabinet door leaf, sheet metal drawer front, or sheet metal box lid). Wherein the handle has a longitudinal extension at whose ends is arranged at least one fastening means (e.g., a screw, nut, hook fastening or clip-in fastening). The lock insert includes a housing with a collar in the vicinity of its front end, and a receiving space for the front end of the housing with the collar is provided at this end of the handle in the vicinity of the fastening means proceeding from the contact surface contacting the thin wall, this receiving space passing through the handle to the front side of the handle while changing in cross section.

Abstract: A latch assembly having a latch housing and handle that are substantially or near flush with the surrounding outer surface of the door in which they are mounted when the latch assembly is in its closed position. The latch assembly utilizes a locking cylinder as a push-button mechanism in order to release at least a portion of the handle, which then pivots to an extended position where it can be grasped and turned by an operator. A spindle and latching pawl are slidably connected to the handle and bound by a camming surface in the latch housing so that the spindle and latching pawl moves both axially and rotationally at the same time so that, upon closing, the pawl will cinch down on the frame to create a tight closure between the door and frame.

The locking device can be subassembled in a grip attached to the baggage main body, and the baggage can be simply manufactured by replacing the subassembly with the grip of the existing suitcase.

Abstract: A handle and lock which generally includes a base having an index pin, a stop positioned in a circular channel, and an aperture traversing the base. A shaft is rotatably engaged to the base. The shaft includes a nut-shaped platform and an arcuate positioning limiter disposed in the circular working channel. The nut shaped platform preferably includes a threaded bore to receive a fastener used to releasably attach a handle to the shaft. The handle generally includes a head portion having a nut shaped receiving area and an arcuate protruding positioning member for placement within the circular working channel. The nut shaped receiving area preferably covers the platform during rotation of the handle relative to the base. The head portion may also include a lock having a locking barrier connected to a locking cylinder. The locking barrier is also adapted for removable positioning within the circular working channel to prevent rotation between the rotational limiter and the stop thereby restricting rotation of the handle and shaft relative to the base. The shaft further includes a latch member designed to engage a latch receiver integral to a door frame used for latching of a door in a closed position.

Abstract: An apparatus for positioning a key at the keyhole of a lock. The apparatus includes a hollow, funnel-shaped element having a wide end and a narrow end. The wide end defines a wide opening which is sufficiently large, and the funnel-shaped element is sufficiently deep, to permit the partial introduction of the index finger and thumb of the user holding the key into the funnel-shaped element. The apparatus also includes means for securing the funnel-shaped element in a position adjacent the keyhole so that the narrow end is located adjacent the periphery of the keyhole during use. The narrow end defines an opening which is larger than the keyhole but sufficiently narrow to enable the user to accurately locate the keyhole.
